Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very aesthetically beautiful castle externally. Chapel provides AMAZING acoustics, I wonder who heard me singing Pie Jesu haha 😆

No toilets wishing the grounds, though public toilets are just around the corner and we’re very well maintained. Gorgeous moat around the castle, very informative film in the media room too.

    Very much enjoyed our visit.

Beautiful in sunshine, exhilerating in a storm, eerie at night... worth the trip in every weather. This little corner of Anglesey has so much history and on a decent day the walking is superb. My wife and I were there for storm Kathleen, and sunshine, probably the best combination possible.
For only a tenner you can climb the tower and have a superb guided tour. Everyone was lovely and our guide was so knowledgeable, entertaining, and accomodating we ended up having rather more than our allotted time up in the lantern room with the irish sea and thousands of years of history. We learned so much about the facility but also about the wildlife - not just sea birds but three types of sea mammal (I wont steal his thunder).
On the practical side, small children and anyone out of health should stay below. There are no toilets! No food or drink etc as its a reserve. Ideally buy your tickets up at the RSPB visitors centre but we had cash handy (no signal, no cards!).
With a head buzzing full of all the fascinating facts the climb back up actually felt easier than the climb down had been - good steps washed with a stream of water in the rain. Glad I was in walking boots.
Loved this place, the whole area as well as the actual lighthouse. Most definitely coming back.

Beaumaris is a lovely place and the gaol is definitely worth a visit. The museum curator gives a talk which is both informative and amusing. Each cell has a record outside of who was imprisoned and brief details of their crime. It would seem that it was predominantly theft of food or poaching. Suggests times similar to today although admittedly punishments are not as stringent. The punishment cell is worth visiting although I couldn’t stay in there more than a minute, with the complete sensory deprivation, complete darkness and total silence ugh!! A fascinating insight into the world of the prisoner. The gaol was in use until 1952 as a police station and on the walls is an account of the wife of a policeman who lived there. Must have been challenging.

Nice home and gardens very impressive. You cannot see all the house on your own you have to be guided. So if you miss the guide times there wasn't much to see. However we did enjoy the experience.

Well sign posted. Plenty of car park spaces. (We gather in the height of season that there aren't enough car park spaces). The rain held off but it was quite windy. We went appropriately dressed with waterproofs and walking boots, which was needed. Some of the paths were very muddy or under water due to previous rain. The cliffs are rugged and beautiful. The larger birds, gulls and choughs, enjoyed the winds but it was a bit much for the small birds. Out of season for some birds. The lighthouse was closed to visitors. The visitors center was very good. Light airy and clean café. Clean toilets. The staff very all very pleasant. Lora was particularly informative and helpful as was Jane.
Only concern the number of bags of dog faeces littering the reserve.

Beautiful forest and beach. The dunes were fascinating and so interesting to read about them on the information boards. So much space and tranquillity. And we saw a red squirrel, which we weren't expecting as it was quite late in the day.

Even though we visited on a rainy day which got worse and worse we had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
We would have taken much more time than the hour and a half to linger and thoroughly appreciate these stunning gardens which really reminded me of a smaller version of Bodnant Gardens.
It was so bad we were given a laminated map of the grounds, what a marvellous idea.
Wish I could have bought some plants, but just wasn't practical for us being so wet and being on a mini break in Angelsey.
Gardeners World 2 for 1 are only accepted on certain days, so check GW website 1st.

As always a lovely visit. Friendly staff lots of friendly animals. Food in the cafe was lovely, and I’m really impressed with the dairy free menu and availability, not everywhere is so accommodating.
Love this place it’s just a great day out and my little ones always come away so happy. X

We had a warm welcome, spent around an hour and a half in the museum, and then then enjoyed some lovely food in the café. A proper passion project arranged in a really beautiful and loving way, just had really good vibes! We had pasties, bara brith and coffees and they were all super tasty! Have recommended to others since.

Out with nature on this wild weather day! Lots of parking spaces, a small cafe/outdoor catering van and toilets. Lots of walks through woodland or the beach. Very dog friendly

This attraction has charm, it is quite small but interesting. The talk at the shark model was a highlight and made the visit last longer. I understand that it is not an attraction that has lots of money to invest in upgrading the tanks etc, but myself and children were upset by the size of some of the tanks. For example an extremely large fish all by itself swimming diagonally because the tank was so small. Tiny jellyfish so many in a really small tank. A starfish and I think a lobster in a very small corner tank. I can get over the place being a bit run down but not what seemed cruel with the examples given. I think with a quite small investment in things like this it could be better.
