This is a must for anybody visiting Anglesey! The view was simply breathtaking . Although the bridge was shut , we still went down the steep stairs to the bottom and back ( which isn’t for the faint hearted) .

This amazing location is spoilt by the sky high parking charges at the RSPB centre ; what a rip off, they should lower the prices immediately

Lovely stroll , wear the correct footwear as there are plenty of rocks , wear the correct clothing for the walk , water is a must.
It’s lovely on a sunny but if the weather takes a turn it could be a challenge.
    Plan before you go .
    ENJOY

Stena have been patchy in the past in my experience with them, however this year wasn’t one of them. We were booked on the 09:00 crossing using Stena Estrid from Holyhead to Dublin Port.
Boarding was easy, we were premium so were on first and also off first!
The plus lounge is easy to find, at the front of the vessel on Deck 8.
We departed before 09:00, which is a bonus.
However, there are a few main points which I wish to pick up on to help improve my experience onboard.
First of all, delays. This one I believe to be unavoidable as sadly the second main engine wasn’t working, the captain informed us about 30-50 minutes into the journey. This was much after we had departed in my opinion. Although, the crossing time only increased by 40 minutes making it 4 hours.
Second of all extremely restrictive access onboard. We had hoped as was tradition in my family going to Ireland by boat to see the boat departing on the sun deck. You could not go any higher than Deck 8 on this crossing, without any explanation.
Third, disembarkation- no announcement was played just a member of staff telling us to go, this was all well and good until it still had the restricted tape over the stairs
Finally, doors to the decks and around the vessel.
The doors on the vessel are extremely heavy like many ferries of this type. However the Stena Estrid has push bars on not one door but around 90% of them and this makes it hard to hold the door in rough seas. Access to the small deck on Deck 7 was via a push bar door, there should be doors with normal handles to make this easier.
I am overall happy with this crossing despite the above.

Sadly the building was closed but the building is beautiful. What lies beside it is a little bit of heaven. The view. We went here combined with Stack lighthouse. It won't take long to look at it but just fir the views itself is worth the small walk down to it.

We noticed these on our way to the lighthouse and stopped to have a look afterwards. It's a lovely walk and you can do the whole length and back in an hour, it's a dead end so you basically do a massive loop. Lovely walk and you learn something along the way!

This house has been well preserved to depict life in the past, it is worth seeing the introductory film before exploring the other room(s). you can well imagine the hardships any family had to endure to live there over the centuries. the gardens are well cared for, helpful guides and use your NT cards for a small discount. Plenty of parking nearby, then adjourn to the pub opposite for a good lunch. Perfect.

Well worth a look , well looked after , located right in the heart of Holyhead town center , there is so much history and the Poppy remembrance garden is a great addition and very humbling.

My granddaughter aged 7 loved searching for the crocodile. We had the usual lovely welcome from everyone.
We did Saffari for the 1st time, so glad we have an annual pass we will definitely be back. Made a scarecrow and a den. It is lovely to see what Richard and his team are doing for locals and visitors alike.
Used our annual pass for 10% discount on Monuts, biscoff is amazing. Obviously had to buy a goobar, don't be put off by price it is worth every penny.
My granddaughter was made up to see where the doughnuts were made. Richard took extra care to explain to her how the doughnuts were made and how many they make. She loved the roundhouse too.
We will be back so much to see.
    Diolch o galon.

We followed the postcode route but it said we had arrived when we couldn't see any signs for it. We carried on driving past the RAF Camp and were thinking of turning back when we noticed what looked like a car park and were delighted to see a notice board confirming we had arrived. It is free to enter. There are various lakes as you walk around and there are some small mounds you can walk up so you can have a view of the lakes. We didn't actually notice any birds when we were there so I assume they must have been hiding.

We spent a day in Holyhead while holidaying on Anglesey. Had a drink and cake in the cafe - a generous slice of lemon meringue and a decent cup of coffee. There is a small theatre (up to 80 people??), a shop and some exhibition space. Local artists on display when we visited. Worth a visit though the Oriel Mon in Llangefni is better.

Needed to print off, sign and then scan a document whilst on holiday. The lady who assisted me was very helpful and friendly, couldn’t have asked for better service, thank you.
