We visited Pen y Fan on 10th January 2024. Parked at Pont ar Daf car park. Plenty of spaces at 11:30am, lots of Accessible Parking Bays. Parking charges are FREE for Blue Badge Holders, FREE for National Trust Members and £7.50 for Non-members.

There are 'basic' toilets in the car park including Accessible facilities.

The weather can change very quickly so be prepared for all conditions.

The trails are NOT accessible with Electric Scooters, as you would expect but the scenery is awesome!

Visited on the 1st November 2023 with a friend and we had a great experience. There had been lots of rain recently so there was a lot of water around which I think made the falls more spectacular! We did get a bit of rain on the day but we had our water proofs on and walking boots so it didn't bother us too much.
I logged the route as 9.3km on my Apple Watch and we did the full red route plus all 3 green sections. It took us 3.5 hours including our 20 min stop for lunch.
This was long walk for me and I'm not particularly fit but I didn't find it too challenging (l'd say just challenging enough) some of the hills are tough but there are plenty of flatter parts too so you get a break from the steep parts.
The route was fairly quiet for us, we passed a few groups throughout our walk but l imagine in the night of summer it could get very busy.
Parking was fine, I think we paid £4 for the day.
I would highly recommend this hike if you're visiting the area!

After walking around Brecon Town, we had a long walk along the canal , then sat in the sunshine eating our lunch.

Tretower Court is in a beautiful location near Crickhowell. It offers a slice of Welsh history from shortly after the Norman conquest to the middle ages and after.

We visited with family friends (4 adults and 4 boys 10-16 in total). Carparking was sufficient and well-marked. The entrance and shop well labelled. The cost of a family ticket very reasonable at under £30. We enjoyed the audio tour which allowed all of us to explore at our own pace and with as much detail as each individual chose. The large chess set was also appreciated.

We visited on a cold and increasingly wet day (very typical Welsh winter) which prevented us from enjoying the grounds as much as they deserved. This would have been a problem for the picnic we'd brought if it hadn't been for the fantastic staff. They came to find us as we were exploring to tell us we were welcome to eat inside in the kitchen. Earlier they had got out a table for us to have hot drinks in the visitor centre as the cafe was closed. They are the reason for the 5 star rating that made a trip that was very good, excellent. We will definitely be going back (hopefully on a warmer, drier day!).

Great little museum. Have been to Brecon on several occasions, but not really noticed this museum before. It is only small, (and the price reflects this), but well worth a visis, particularly for the "Zulu" exhibits.

We did this as an impulse visit but we are very glad we did as it was absolutely brilliant, and excellent value for 6 pounds. You see the kites close up, and there are a huge number of them. Essential to go in time for feeding in the afternoon (the time varies with the year so check ahead).

Went there on the way up to Picws Du to scatter my dad's ashes. An energetic walk up from the car park

I found the information sheets spread around the cathedral very informative and the displays boards telling you about other churches in the area was also very good. Lovely cathedral with an interesting history.

Stunning hidden gem. Found it by chance. Beautiful location. Visited on a sunny day with clear blue skies and it was magical. Didn’t go in the restaurant but had a lovely ping at the bar downstairs. Free car park and entry to the Priory. Drive there was a kerfuffle at times - single lane road with not many passing places. Well worth the patience though.

Quite close to the town centre so worth a wander. Nice setting with some nicely preserved bridges and a pleasant rural setting. Looks to be decent facilities for boaters too.

This is a wonderful facility with a theatre and a waterfront cafe. Most of all, they had toilets, just when I needed them.
