Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Catherine RoseCaerphilly, UK69 contributionsThe last bus leaves St Fagans at three, I wish we’d had more time. Such a beautiful place full of history, nature and wildlife. So many historic buildings from various time periods have carefully been rebuilt onsite. I thoroughly enjoyed your cafe’s Welsh cakes. There is also a lovely gift shop with Welsh products and postcards. I think the bus could’ve been better advertised as I only found out through work. I wish we could have had more time.Written 10 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Felixstowe2016Felixstowe, UK6,935 contributionsCardiff Castle is a medieval castle and Victorian Gothic revival mansion located in the city centre of Cardiff, Wales. The original motte and bailey castle was built in the late 11th century by Norman invaders on top of a 3rd-century Roman fort. The castle was commissioned either by William the Conqueror or by Robert Fitzhamon, and formed the heart of the medieval town of Cardiff and the Marcher Lord territory of Glamorgan. In the 12th century the castle began to be rebuilt in stone, probably by Robert of Gloucester, with a shell keep and substantial defensive walls being erected. Further work was conducted by the 6th Earl of Gloucester in the second half of the 13th century. Cardiff Castle was repeatedly involved in the conflicts between the Anglo-Normans and the Welsh, being attacked several times in the 12th century, and stormed in 1404 during the revolt of Owain GlyndŵrWritten 6 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JessWales, UK322 contributionsCardiff Bay is really worth visiting, especially for food, drinks and a walk around. There is an extensive choice of restaurants and bars. It's a relaxing area with plenty to do, but not as busy as the city centre which makes it a pleasant experience.Written 9 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andrew EBrancaster Staithe, UK1 contributionMy Welsh friend had been pretty dismissive about Castle Coch, but on a rainy day I suggested that we should give it a go. We were both very favourably impressed. The site is still undergoing some remedial work, but that is no reason to avoid it. Plenty of impressive sights and a fascinating history, all enhanced by an excellent commentary on hand-held electronic devices, included without any additional charge. The only notes of caution are that you must be happy to ascend some steep and narrow circular staircases, also it would be wise to go out of high season, since it could soon become uncomfortably crowded on the narrow passages. Very well worth a diversion from th M4!Written 9 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

There is so much to do, and both boys were entertained despite their age difference. 11 and 7. After we left a short wall to Mermaid key for a bite to eat and an icecream. Perfect!Written 27 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

There are many trails for walking and cycling, as well as a couple places to refuel if need be. Our kids loved the little percussion installations lining a trail in the southwest quarter of the park, as well as a play area next to the Summerhouse Cafe. It was an amazing experience!Written 27 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Osher S61 contributionsMy mom and I visited Cardiff Market, and it was a lot of fun to browse around! The atmosphere was lively, and the people were lovely. I’d heard great things about the freshly made Welshcakes, and they did not disappoint—definitely try them while they’re still warm! We also found some interesting booths selling teas, herbs, and incense sticks at good prices. There are plenty of places to sit and eat on the second floor, making it a great spot to hang out for a couple of hours in the afternoon.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
