  • The ranking of tours, activities, and experiences available on Tripadvisor is determined by several factors including the revenue generated by Tripadvisor from these bookings, the frequency of user clicks, and the volume and quality of customer reviews. Occasionally, newly listed offerings may be prioritized and appear higher in the list. The specific placement of these new listings may vary.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our driver, Stuart, took us to the stops that were mentioned in the itinerary. We went past many landmarks on the way out of Belfast, and he pointed out interesting architecture and old thatched cottages. There were plenty of bathroom opportunities, the first at Carrickfergus castle at ~10:15am. Stuart was a Game of Thrones enthusiast and shipped us to locations that were prominent in the series, like where they filmed The Wall (northern ice wall of Westeros), Carnlough Harbor, and the trees where they filmed The King’s Road (Dark Hedges). If you haven't seen Game of Thrones, they are still really pretty and interesting sites. Stuart is a talented storyteller with a great sense of humor. For example, he told us the legend about the Gaelic giant Finn McCool and the Scottish giant Benandonner who supposedly created the famous Causeway. We learned a lot about Grace O’Malley, badass pirate queen. He also talked about the men who built the Titanic and he was a great-grandson of one of these men.

We grabbed lunch before we arrived at the Giant’s causeway (Fullerton Arms, Ballintoy, County Antrim). Stuart had a menu to choose from so we had the Chicken Goujons (chicken tenders) with chips (fries) that were very nice [~17£ or $18.50]. Fullerton Arms handled the tour bus expertly.

At the Giant’s Causeway, there are bathrooms to the left in front of the hotel. If you do not use the path through the visitor centre but the one to the right, the entry to the Giant’s Causeway is free. There is a bus that you can use to get to the rocks, it is 1£ or 1€ per ride and you can pay by either cash or credit card. We took the bus back because the path is steep and long. There is another hiking path that is exposed and a long slog, so you probably should be an experienced hiker to use it. It’s probably beautiful.

We stopped at the Old Bushmills Distillery. Lots of history here if EtOH is your thing.

Stuart also told us about what growing up in Belfast during The Troubles was like. Personal stories. He was very forthcoming and didn’t pick sides or take a certain view. He explained the changes since the Good Friday Agreement and adjusting to the post-Troubles.

But yeah, Giant’s Causeway. That was the highlight and it’s absolutely fantastic, but the day was made even better by Stuart and his knowledge of NI.

This was much better than I thought it would be. We left central Belfast at 9 am and returned just after 6 pm so a full day for just £28. Kevin the driver was exceptional - so full of local knowledge, history and background at every stop - of which there were plenty.

Would recommend you take your own lunch and wear hiking boots or trainers for the Giant’s Causeway. Right hand side of the bus has the best coastal views in the morning.

Great experience, explaining how the titanic was built and the story of the voyage. Very moving. Fantastic experience. Would recommend. It was busy so we had a while to wait so book early.

Amazingly informative and professional guided tour for 5 individual uncommon friends sharing. In case you don't read long reviews, if ever booking with Cambell's just ask for DAMIEN as your Driver.
An encyplediac knowledge of his subject, based on lived experience in the area, throughout the troubles and delivered in a very balanced and unbiased manner.
Arrived at Hotel pick up 15 minutes early, and drop off 40 minutes after the 1.5 hour schedule, most unsparing of his time, being fully immersed in answering all our questions at the many stop off points throughout the trip.
We were left with a thorough understanding of the troubles, their origins, and implications for families in terms of tragic outcomes on both sides of the divide. But most importantly a great sense of hope that the peace dividend of the past quarter century will grow and deliver for the young generation born post troubles and even more importantly for the next generation.

Brian was a fantastic tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable, engaging and an incredible storyteller. We learnt a lot about the process of making whisky, the engineering history of the building and the history of the Queen’s Island area. The vodka and whiskey we tasted were both delicious- and the cocktails were wonderful too. I’d thoroughly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Belfast.

Easy to book & super responsive. Our driver Paul was the absolute best...hilarious, unfiltered, knowledgeable, great driver, told us so many stories and kept us entertained on the long day of driving, made sure to give us the tips at each stop and surprised us both with a little snack and an extra special surprise at the end. We had the best day, thanks Paul!

Trevor did an amazing job of taking us around the foodie spots of Belfast - the tour was great and the food we got was amazing - I felt it was really goos value for money and we were really stuffed afterwards. A great insight and got to see some places that I didn't even know existed. Well worth the time and effort!
