Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This tour is a must for those seeking a real deep dive into the complex and nuanced history that surrounds Belfast & Northern Ireland.

Barry (our tour guide) was a font of both academic knowledge and lived experience. For those with a continuing interest he is also able to recommend a number of books , films and documentaries on the subject.

    Five stars!

Great couple of hours out with a very knowledgeable driver. A must do for anyone visiting Belfast and wanting to understand about the Troubles and how it continues to impact Belfast today.

This was a fantastic experience. We were very lucky to have Jim as our tour guide.
He arrived on time at hotel pickup and from the start it was obvious he had a wealth of knowledge. He was informative and respectful in everything he explained to us.
It was such an interesting tour I would recommend it be on the top of your list if you visit Belfast. Highly recommend Xplore Belfast Murals…and if you’re lucky enough to get Jim it’s a bonus!

I took the Belfast Punk Music Walking Tour-can't recommend it enough. You don't need to know anything about Belfast's music scene but I went in with some background and still got tons of great info& learned so much because the tour was given by someone who was there-the lovely Delores-who not only uses her personal insight and connections to enrich the tour but plenty of research as well.
The walking is easy (I have a bad knee that didn't play up at all), well-paced and we stopped to rest for a drink, a break& convo. Dolores creates a great environment so this was an absolute pleasure rather than a pause in action.
You get a look in to the history but also the present state of Belfast's collectives& music scenes. You get a sense of the city itself-how it looked then, what used to be and what's taking shape/being built up now. Many of the stops we made were at places I immediately put on my list to revisit; 2.5 hrs flew by.
Music was played, bands were referenced and we were given cards with Spotify lists so we could keep listening.
Will definitely take others on this tour, keep recommending and hope to take another tour with Creative Tours Belfast next time I'm town:)

What a fascinating tour - Barry is a hoot! He has a wealth of knowledge and answers all questions that we posed. The morning flew by and Barry generously extended our time as the conversation kept flowing. We thoroughly recommend this tour as a must do when in Belfast.

Marty is a very quirky guy . Once you get his sense of humour you will have a great time.
My friend and I were lucky enough to be only ones on our tour and it was brilliant.
His knowledge of the street art and all the local venues is second to none!
We wanted an alternative to the usual historical tours and we were not disappointed.
It was lovely seeing the non political street art and hearing all about what it represented in terms of the positivity alot portrayed for the city's future and the work being done there in the community, for example, several pieces that had been created as part of teaching sessions with budding artists and others promoting the charities helping the homeless.
He also took us to several bars showcasing different musical genres and took is off the beaten tourist paths to show us places we would never have found otherwise.
After nearly 3 hours together we saw and learned so much and had a fantastic time. I highly recommend Marty and hope his relatively new business becomes a success for him. Thank you Marty x

I already knew alot of the history and he filled in the gaps!
He made the experience exceptional. He certainly gave us food for thought.
Northern Ireland has come so far.

David took us on an incredible and historical journey from his first hand experiences during The Troubles. His personal history and knowledge is not something that can be replicated. The tour was emotionally touching. We appreciated his focus on how much more peace exists now, and the positive interactions between younger generations whose families were previously divided.

A fellow traveller recommended the tour and we were not disappointed. We expected to see the famous murals and take a few picture which we did. But the tour guide explained the history (without it being a lecture or boring).
We would recommend this tour to others.

We booked their enclosed bike and added the karaoke equipment and had a blast! The bike has tv in it and you cycle about making absolute spectacles of ourselves singing and dancing like nobody was watching.

Dee & Stephen were amazing hosts and I fully recommend anyone trying this. It’s hard work but so rewarding

Marty was a fun guy to be with. We had a long walk tour with a detailed explanation of all the places we’ve pass along the way. Very informative. Not recommended for older adults or children because of the long walk except if they have a stroller.

We had JR on our tour. He took the time to introduce himself first and give us an idea of what we were about to do. He was very knowledgeable about all the history of the troubles, giving a balanced view of both sides. Incredibly the site of the partition wall surprised us all, we couldn't believe the height of it. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend JR to any family and friends going to Belfast. The children were fascinated from the outset and were very well educated on the troubles.
