Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- BooKatMA8,703 contributionsMy two favorite exhibits here were the Irish gold and the section on the Troubles. Tip: there is a “ hands on” activities room (likely for kids) on the natural world; go to the big back window for a fascinating view of the old graveyard next door with its ancient stones, monuments, etc; it’s left wild and it’s beautiful and eerie. Also, the nearby Botanic Gardens are a definite stop either before or after. The museum is also a nice walk from the center through a university neighborhood with lots of shops and places to eat or for a coffee.Written 11 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janine B8 contributionsWonderful, wonderful museum truly packed full with history or Irish republicanism from the revolution through the troubles. We quickly stopped in and realized there was so much more to see we came back the next dayWritten 27 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Roam73230Tucson, AZ9 contributionsFor anyone who has a family member in WW two this museum shows the Irish side. I went on the National European day. Displays are easy for all ages to learn and read. They actually want to interview family members of soliders.Written 20 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PaulHamilton, UK28 contributionsMake time both to visit and to fully enjoy the experience once there - 90 minutes wasn’t enough ! Informative exhibition and story telling which helps paint the picture of so much more than the James Connolly many of us think we know. Add an endlessly interesting range of material in the first floor library and you have a great way to spend the day.Written 19 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RyanLeeds, UK188 contributionsWe stumbled across this little gem on our first day in Belfast. Firstly, the member of staff in the cafe was so helpful...giving us tips about where to visit while we were in town. The food and cuppa were lovely. The museum was interesting but sadly some of the interactive equipment needed updating/repairingWritten 5 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ScotcharlieLos Angeles, CA86 contributionsThis museum is actually one small room at RUC HQ. It includes some interesting artifacts such as pieces of uniforms and weapons. You could be in and out in under 30 minutes. The staff was friendly and helpful. The best thing about this museum is that it gives out a fascinating guide about the collection. You can also buy things such as RUC badges. Unless you are a hardcore history or police enthusiast, I'm not sure it's worth the trouble getting there to see such a small museum.Written 4 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
