Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A fun museum that was informative with lots of interesting pieces on display. Definitely enjoyed our time wandering around the museum.

We were very lucky to have a colleague living near by who took us for a stroll around the little fishing village. The locals didn’t seem to mind us walking around taking photos of their little cottages including their washing lines!

Huge beautiful castle ruins! It was an easy 20 minute walk from the bus station. There is nobody working there you just come and go as you please. It’s right on the edge of the cliffs so use common sense while exploring. Definitely worth the trip to Peterhead!

Visited on Easter weekend & had more than 3 hours admiring the whole Botanic Experience with a few seats all the way round. Went back for a second visit for two reasons - one to again admire the few places we missed on the first visit but also to check if there was any CCTV covering the disabled parking as an anonymous driver had damaged our car on our first visit. The repairs came to £275.00 which spoilt our weekend break from Dundee.

We visited today and we are so glad we did. Fantastic museum, warm friendly and incredibly knowledgeable staff and volunteers. Well worth a visit. Thank you so much for the whole experience and the cafe… lovely, clean and excellent choice and value.

Glorious, staff engaged and engaging. Worth a visit no matter the weather, so much to see and learn - the refurbishment of the ceiling fascinating.

Been here many times but first time since the renovations!

First of got a friendly welcome as i entered which never expected and through out staff were very helpful!

I really liked the it since i was last there. I love art but of course not all art is for me! Good thing here is its fairly diverse and its organised so rooms have different styles and themes. There is quite a lot associated with the local city and its history and some new local artists work too! Which i think is great.

There is everything from pop art to traditional portraits. Recent art from locals and temporary exhibitions too.
I have Louise Bourgeois exhibition this time, previously i saw shell sponsored one and Da Vinci sketches to name a couple.

Anyone with interest in art or the city and can appreciate getting a sense of its history and character through art should definitely go there for an hour or two!

I took my 5 year old daughter & my 10 year old son we arrived at 3:30pm on a Saturday it was surprisingly quiet although I do wish we had gone earlier as there is so much to see & do you need lots of time. With 60 exhibits you need a whole afternoon to fully experience the science centre. We had a great time & are already looking forward to our next visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, it was so interesting and our two tour guides were very easy to listen to. We especially loved the story of Jake the Ghost
It will make our next visit to His Majesty's more special knowing what goes on behind the stage ( picture attached) and how the theatre has changed.

A fabulous way to spend an afternoon (or a morning if you are a morning person) in Aberdeen.
This Gin masterclass was a birthday treat and one of the best I have ever received. I did not exactly know what to expect so I would not want to spoil it for someone else, but let’s say that if you are a gin lover this is definitely for you.
Don & Alan, the founders of Aberdeen city Gin distillery have for sure polished their masterclass: there is no rest for one’s curiosity and enthusiasm. While you will learn about spirits, gin, the distilleries in Aberdeen and the shire, visit the facility, get a glimpse of the process and have very generous tastes of the house production (on that note you should walk to the Distillery or take a bus or a cab!) , you understand you are going to professionally make your own gin! and this is a huge responsibility!
All those spices, flowers, herbs... It is a very good thing that Alan & Don guide you through your choices to help materialise one of your dreams in a bottle you will bring home, named, professionally labelled and sealed. The temptation is too big to put too much!
Then, once home, starts another one which is : wait for the aromas to settle and apparently it takes 3 months!

Beautiful gardens. Favorite place to visit any time of the year. Lot of different settings. Landscaping has made most of the terrain. Favorite with photographers

Travelled on the Hrossey on a very calm night. We had booked a premier cabin which entitled us to access to the Magnus Lounge. O|ne of the main advantages is that you order your food and it arrives piping hot, and generally the food is quite good. In the cafeteria (which Northlink pretentiously calls a restaurant) you have to queue for your food, have it served to you on a tray, and then only after queuing to pay, get your cutlery, find a table etc, the food isn't what it might have been!
There are two drinks vouchers per person included with Magnus Lounge entry, which we used for wine.
There is a continental breakfast included too, and this is always welcome.
The rest of the journey is in a tiny cabin, with a pokey en-suite, but at a rate which I consider very expensive for 'room only'. Of course we have to pay for the Northlink Hotel Director's wage too!

I came here on Saturday. The staff were really helpful and I had a good visit. Overall, I would recommend this place to visitors to Aberdeen, but I have the followings suggestions for those in charge:

    1. Would it be possible to freshen up the exhibits? They seemed to be the same as when I came here last year? For example, one month you could have a feature showcasing Denis Law, the next month you could showcase Thomas Blake Glover (just for example).

    2. It would be great if you could reinstate the shop and possibly a wee café? I remember this place before it was a museum and it was a really popular place for people to meet... if the Aberdeen City Council workers went back to work then I am sure a small café could be profitable here again.

Visited to come to the amusements after bowling elsewhere. A lot of good amusements as usual. Even better when I won from the Grabby Machine thing. Staff friendly when spending tickets
