Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

In July, good weather, and the beach was deserted apart from a couple of dog walkers. Very windy though. Looks great. Swimming in the North sea might be a bit of an put-off! Plenty of benches to sit on.

We rode the Deeside Way from Aboyne to Ballater, a total of eleven miles each way, on a fabulous sunny day in June. It has to be one of the most beautiful cycle trails that we have done. It is a mixture of hard-packed gravel and tarmac surface. As it follows an old railway line, the gradients are very easy. You won't need a mountain bike. We did it on hybrids and found it very relaxed, easy going.

There are plenty of places for coffee and cake along the way. We stopped for coffee at the Cambus O'May cheese factory, so good we plan on returning there tomorrow! In Ballater there is a wide range of shops and cafes - including an excellent bike shop near the old station building. It's a very pretty town and well worth a stroll around.

Honestly, this is one of the best cycle trails we've ever ridden. Be sure to ring your bell to warn people of your approach and you all find it a very friendly place to be as well. You can even stop to paddle your aching feet in the delightful rive Dee, should you want to! Another one on our growing list of places for a return visit.

This is an absolute "must" play in Scotland. From the initial booking via their team through the day of onsite interaction, this is an incredible experience. Their staff, starting with the GM is well trained in hospitality. A great experience in every possible way. Of course the golf course itself should be a "bucket-list" for any golf fan! Thanks to the team for making our day so special!

A decent sandy beach with a reasonable amount of free parking nearby. Not too many people around either, although it is midweek so the weekends might be different!

My daughter attended the 2022 holiday summer camp. The team where God sent and excellent. Adam and Julie help work with me to stabilize my daughters mood and gentle talk to her about sportsmanship. They helped her understand and teach her what reaction to take when upset after losing and maybe if someone pushed her. It was a fun and high impact activities week for my 6 year old. In the next camp she went to, I could tell she learnt a thing or two. I want to say a special thank you to Julie and Adam in the holiday get active and encourage you to keep doing what you do. Thank you

My group just finished a 7 day golf trip to Scotland and were playing Cruden Bay, Royal Aberdeen, and Trump around Aberdeen. We had an early tee time at Royal Aberdeen and decided to schedule Murcar in the afternoon.

All I can say is that the course FAR exceeded expectations. The course was in superb condition, from tee boxes, to fairways, to greens. Everyone on the trip commended the conditions. it is a fun course, several blind shots, and really quite fun.

I've had the luxury of playing most of the top courses in Scotland and Ireland, and I'd recommend Murcar to anyone. The staff were super friendly as well

Good course to play in winter as summer greens still in use. Enjoyment spoiled by Crows stealing golf balls, have had a dozen taken in last three rounds, getting expensive may have to play elsewhere soon, have spoken to a lot of players and they have had similar problems with crows. Owner of the course doesn't seem willing to do anything about the crows, maybe a drop in revenue might spur them into action.

A fantastic day of golf, great welcoming staff, a very friendly guy in the pro shop, a fantastic course in great condition. My group could not fault a single thing and for many of us it is the best golf course we have played this year. all factors considered, Will definitely be back again. Keep up the good work Peterculter staff!

Well stocked shop and a varied driving range. Always seems to be busy which is a good sign. I've also had a few fittings and been impressed

Tullos Hill is a favourite spot for dog walkers, joggers and office workers from the nearby industrial estate taking a lunchtime walk. The hill has a rich history – it was a Bronze Age burial site, a WWII Anti-Aircraft Battery and a land fill site. Today it is criss-crossed with footpaths and has an abundant mix of wild flowers, heath and wood offering marvellous views out to sea and the new offshore windfarm. Footpaths are stony and can be quite steep in places, so appropriate footwear is required. There are a few information boards and footpath signs to help you navigate a route. A small free car park is situated near the footpath entrance in Altens Farm Road, between the Shell and Wood Group Buildings.

Not much room for 'proper' swimming but as a fun pool this was pretty good. You have to pay for the slides seperately which is a liitle odd, but they are quite good. My only complaint is that even during the school holidays all the slides, waves etc. stop at 4pm which seems very early when that is what this pool is all about.

Inverted is a great and friendly studio where you can make new friends and learn new disciplines without being bored! You can try many different things and stay fit, exercise and tone your whole body. I would definitely recommend it to everyone, especially if you are bored of the gym and looking for something else! Instructors are quite friendly and make you feel comfortable even if you haven't tried something like that before! Give it a try and you will not stay disappointed.

Our children attend tennis classes here regularly and it is a very good facility with great instructors - a real treat to have just across the road!
