Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited here and were immediately impressed by the beautiful and well kept surroundings around the mill, well laid out with picnic tables among historic apple trees that alone would have made the visit worthwile. But the mill itself is an amazing glimpse into the past, as a social hub, a brilliant piece of engineering and of course the vital mill for the surrounding farms and villages. Brought to life by the NTS rep on site, Mike, our visit was hugely enhanced by his knowledge and enthusiasm.
Having seen the mill we took the beautiful walk around the site following the Lade up and past the Mill Pond to the weir which diverts the water required by the mill to the pond. We even managed to spot the local Kingfisher as it flashed past. The water obviously returns to the stream once it has performed its task and is a great example of real sustainable enegry. Can't recommend this visit enough.

The staff were amazing. I missed my tee time by accident, but they managed to still squeeze me in later that day. Given I travelled from the other side of the world for this round of golf, I was extremely appreciative with their help.
The course was fantastic as you would expect for a British open course. The caddie one of my playing partners had was great as well.
The service in the restaurant was first class.
Definitely have a round at Carnoustie if you have a chance.
Note: If your coming from St. Andrews, there is no public transport to get to Carnoustie. I had to get a taxi which cost 65 pounds.

The walk along the beach side the golf course is just lovely. The beach is so big with a large Bach park beside it and there’s a nice walkway just along the front of the beach.
It is a great place to visit day or night!

A stunning course, in wonderful condition combined with a staff who are obviously and rightly proud of their club and strive to give the visitor a memorable experience.
The welcome we received from the staff in the pro shop and the time given to us by the Manager only added to our enjoyment.
It was by far the highlight of our trip to Scotland and probably my most enjoyable day of golf to date...
    Truly memorable.

What a beautiful course, kept in fantastic condition a credit to the green keeping staff and members alike.

I would like to thank member Alan N Watson for joining me on the day and guiding me around the Medal course and teaching me the history of this beautiful club.

This monumental memorial has a centrepiece sculpture of a highland soldier standing over a cross and wreath, his head bowed in an imagined scene of sorrow over fallen comrades. Behind the statue is a memorial wall with plaques for the roll of honour. Proudly displayed are two plaques for the Carnoustie men who won the Victoria Cross. These men were Charles Alfred Jarvis and George McKenzie Samson.

I ordered a taxi to take us to the Carnoustie Golf Hotel.
We requested a vehicle for 5 people.
The taxi arrived on time and as I am partially disabled the driver was kind enough to help me into the front seat of the vehicle.
On arrival at the hotel the driver enquiries as to whether we would be booking a return journey home as if we were be would ensure an even more comfortable/accessible car would be made available to us.
True to his word when we left the hotel the taxi sent allowed me to board / get out much easier.
    Thanks.

Abertay owner Norrie is the best. He made all travel arrangements for our group of four golfers and two spouses this past September. Reasonably priced and totally professional, I highly recommend his services for anyone needing travel arrangements in the St. Andrew's,Dundee/Carnoustie area.
