Great museum, helpful, staff, all museums are good if you want to know the history of the place you are visiting.
I love museums like this, feels very local and feels like a real part of the community, the trinkets and local history I think are very important and it's great to see this place is keeping it up.

I wish more wee museums like this were in existence.
Tiny museum packed full of great local photos, displays, old toys, local old packaging from foodstuff, fab local heritage etc. Set on a hill side with lovely garden and fantastic views across the Clyde.

This is how museums should be, it's in a great setting with very informative and interesting displays bringing the history of the area to life.
We need to support these small museums or our history will end up locked away in a vault!

Very worthwhile visit to this compact museum with its impressive exhibits illustrating life on the island when the slate quarrying was active as well as processes involved.
The slate museum is great a small house with many interesting items some I even remember as a child and an interesting man who gives out terrific information.

The museum has two sections - Bute and its history (great for learning about this beautiful island), and the natural history & geology section.
A lovely local museum, giving a great overview of Bute

A very interesting museum packed with military artefacts, some personal stories and medals from local soldiers who served and died for their country.
This small museum has a lot packed in to limited space; worth visiting for a look around and a chat with the friendly and informative proprietor,
