Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We bought a beautiful oil painting of Oban harbor from a Glasgow artist, Ed Hunter. The proprietor Annie Mackenzie was very accommodating and was able to ship our painting to the USA. She was extremely knowledgeable about the artists work in the gallery and was delightful to talk to. Highly recommend if you are looking for original art works.

An attractive choice of art, craft and gifts near the harbour. It's the nicest shop in Cambeltown, not far from the cinema.

A really excellent gallery with a marvellous variety of paintings and other pieces, the outstanding highlights being the amazing creations of Greig Gilchrist using wood, resin and seashells.

We visited today hoping for a quick cuppa to warm up after a very cold, wet visit to the beautiful Sanna sands but we left with so much more! Not only did we get great tea and coffee, we enjoyed a chat with each member of the family and took home a pet crab, who will now give pleasure to a wonderful group of 3 and 4 year olds. Thank you.

This business offers something for all would-be crafters or artists. Regular art courses of all types and workshops in the lovely bright and airy gallery/studio upstairs. Further branching out offering workshops in different and unusual crafts with excellent tutors. Also offers an excellent framing service as well as regular displays of art work. Small shop offering handmade greetings cards and small handmade gifts. Check them out on Facebook!

Our first visit - fabulous woodart! Richard's creations are unbelievably skilful; so delicate and creative. We had to splash out. And, please note, he is able to take a credit card payment, despite slow internet connections in that part of the world and his website saying cheques only!!. Thank you Richard.

This is a gift shop that sells a variety of goods including an Art gallery upstairs. You can get a drink here too.
Was hoping to get a second visit it but sadly that did not materialise.

A fascinating hidden gem, featuring magical creations crafted from the very nature of Argyll herself and immortalised in resin. The perfect place to park for a walk to Achanduin Castle.

Amazing little shop with masses of local art and crafts. Plenty of ideas for quality gifts with the flavour of Scotland. Kind and welcoming owner, still open in latest, darkest November. Well worth a look. Free parking at hand.

An interesting range of work using various media. All of high quality and the sculptures in the barn clearly demonstrate the artists sense of humour.

Recently spent 5 or 6 hours in and around Craighouse on a gloriously hot and sunny July day (this is Scotland, your mileage may vary)

We were travelling with friends who had previously met the photographer, Konrad Borkowski , and were keen to go and visit the gallery and say hello. They had gifted us a calendar that he had produced which was very nice so I was happy to go along and have a browse although I am by no means passionate

I am not at all knowledgeable in photography so I lack the vocabulary to do his work justice but it is simply fantastic. The dominant themes of his work are the same as those of Jura and Isla themselves - beautiful landscapes, wild red deer and of course, whisky!

Konrad is very friendly and enthusiastic and happy to talk about his work. I'm sure he gets the same questions over and over again (where was that one taken? How did you get that shot?) but he gave no sign of it and shared lots of interesting insights into what he does

We ended up buying quite a lot of prints and calendars for ourselves, friends and family. Shipping is available if you are buying anything on the bigger side and can't easily take it with you off the island.

If you are on Jura, you should absolutely go and visit and have a browse. To have been drawn to visit Jura in the first place means you will almost certainly find something in Konrad's work that you love and will want to get as a memento of the trip or a gift for someone

Derek is always keen to share his passion for, and knowledge about, wood in all its aspects. Examples of what can be achieved abound all over, beyond the permanent exhibition and display. Truly inspiring.
