Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I had a great 3-day-custom-tour with Lesley. We began the customization process in October, and Lesley was full of ideas that would be sure to include the kinds of things we wanted to see and do, and NOT the ones we did not care about. That was important to us!! Once in her van, she made us feel comfortable, had water for us, and began telling us about the area as we drove to our first site. She has quite the command on historical facts, and she was able to instinctively dole out at just the right moment. We were taken care of at every turn, she was always on time, kept the van very clean (even after i trapsed around in the mud), and she is a delightful human. I found Solway Tours through Trip Advisor, and then my Scottish cousin confirmed that he knew Lesley personally, and that was that. You cannot go wrong with Solway Tours! Oh, and on top of all the other wonderful things... she is a very GOOD driver!!

We gathered beside the beautiful Crichton Memorial church on a lovely summer evening. We were a group of 17 and eagerly anticipating our tour. After a short introduction from our guides, we all made our way towards the statue of Elizabeth Crichton, and indeed 'met' Elizabeth Crichton. She gave an account of her life and the history of Easterbrook Hall.

From there, we were able to explore inside the beautiful church, the Crypt and Undercroft. It is such a beautiful building! Both guides (suitably attired) related interesting stories about the history and legends connected to The Crichton. Having worked in Carmont House, one of the buildings on the estate, I was particularly interested in the ghostly tales connected to that building! I can highly recommend this tour.

Brilliant group! So far, in just a few days, I have tried 2 crochet and knitting groups, a get together at the Baptist Church cafe and I am going to sewing, and a book group too. Marvellous! Everyone is so encouraging, I don't know why I have taken so long to make the decision to join! Through the ladies in today's group, I shall be starting Tai Chi next week too! Yay! My days haven't been this exciting in years!
