Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As visitors to Dumfries we needed to have some local information re transport around the area and were delighted when we came across this Tourist Information Centre where the lady at the desk was most helpful and kindly supplied us with all we wanted to know. A small screen in your hand might provide information but does not give you a flavour of the local population and this lady will be remembered by us as a shining example of Dumfries people long after the information she gave us has faded. Please reverse the decision to close these Centres and let us have personal human contacts!!!

Although closed so I couldn't go in I spent a good ten minutes admiring this Carnegie Library,on a quiet street in Dumfries. The library was named after William Ewart, MP for Dumfries 1841-68. He introduced a bill which led to the Public Libraries Acts of 1850 (England) and 1853 (Scotland). This allowed free libraries to be funded from local taxes, although Dumfries did not get one until the Ewart opened in 1904. It's well worth a minute to stop and admire all the work that went into it,named after a very important man to the world of libraries
