Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- 280020 contributionsI had done the silver tour twice in the past (first time 2 years ago) and they were so amazing that whisky is now my go to drink! I recently had the opportunity to do the gold tour and of course it did not disappoint, you learn so much here and the gold tour is perfect if you’re looking to try a whisky you may not have tried before. Huge shoutout to my tour guide Laura who is so knowledgeable and really made the experience memorable, she was open to any questions and the tour was so smoothly done!Written 14 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - andrew mGalashiels, UK14 contributionsJus been for the tour today, must admit we had a great time and very interesting. Our host tour guide Emma was fantastic she knew what she was talking about very knowledgeable in all aspects of whisky, any questions you asked her she gave you a soild response, was skeptical to start with as I don't drink whisky first drink that you make must admit it was awful, I had the red ban poured your drink and added the flavour which was bay leaves to me it was a Johnny walker and soda. Then further into the tour where the girls made your drink it was totally different experience. I went for the spice cocktail very nice then I had the spice highball again this was very nice, all in all I would do it again as its very interesting and the things you learn about it will probably surprise you. Also if I was a whiskey conasour and had a spare £30.000 you can buy a bottle of the liquid gold that you would enjoy. Great day great experience fantastic guide well doneWritten 14 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great fun and it was good to try lots of Scottish gins and learn more about them, rather than it just being about the history of gin. James was a great host and his stories added colour to the afternoon. Highly recommended.Written 23 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Nockster31Edinburgh, UK103 contributionsA group of us recently did a walking whisky tour with Justine, she was fantastic, knowledgeable, friendly, funny and not phased by anything including the ‘colourful locals’. We all had a great time and found her tour really engaging, with the whisky at the end a real bonus and tailored to the tour.
I would certainly recommend this tour, even if you know about whisky you will learn something from Justine.Written 22 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
