Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very nice castle that is easy to reach by local bus. Admittance is low and the place is not crowded in September, rather quit. Excellent explanation of the rooms.

This was lovely and a great stop in Edinburgh! I went with some family and my little brother, whose name is actually Bobby, and loved the fact that the was dog had the same name as him! The gravesite is genuinely beautiful and we had a look to find some of the oldest graves and actually found one as old as 1616! It is lovely to see how well preserved some of these graves are and how beautiful and big the site was. We didn’t actually have time to go in the church but from what I have heard and seen it looks and sounds lovely. The memorial to Greyfriars Bobby at the entrance is adorable and it was altogether a beautiful place.

Overall, it was a welcoming and fascinating place to visit, giving a brief example of what Scottish parliament is. Unexpectedly, there's a pleasant café and shop that are both well worth a visit. Tge café seven lunches and snacks plys hot and cold drinks at very affordable prices. The Scottish haggis and bacon toasted sandwich was excellent. The design and layout of the structure of the building are unique and eyecatching. Worth a visit.

This is the area where you will find the old castle. The Rock forms a high hill, so be prepared for a climb, although a cab will take you almost to the top. Formidable.

So much shopping. Pay attention to signs for your platform -- some are double marked (e.g. Platform 8 also says 8e). Otherwise, it is a relatively nice train station!

Waterloo Place is just on the edge of Princes Street which is probably the most well known road in Edinburgh apart from the Royal Mile. The tram stop is close by and many of the buses run along this road as well.

When I visited there was a street market there which was cool. Good to see local businesses being given an opportunity to sell their products.

It was interesting to learn that the school was founded in the early 17th century with a generous endowment from George Heriot the renown jeweller to the King and Queen.

Constructed from sandstone the architecture is admirable. We enjoyed admiring the grand details.

It was a very nice church. We have traveled the world, looking at churches in the different architect. I love to look at the organs and the pipes and the hymnals to see what exactly goes on in that particular church.

We walked past this building several times during our stay in Edinburgh, however we did not actually go inside. We did not know what it was, and in any case it would have been of little use to us. From outside, as we saw it, it looks rather grand. It looks like a lovely old building with some beautiful architecture. There is also an equestrian statue out the front but we never got to have a close look, unfortunately!
