Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Just over two hours of pure escapism. This was a good place to be. Not just wonderful images of Europe and North Africa but his family, friends, domestic life and even the lush gardens they relaxed in.
Friends in high places ? Churchill on the Riviera. And talking of cigars- there were bursting boxes to admire and a 19th century celebrity curry chef to cheer in the Glasgow Exhibition Room. His short career as a war artist was a complete revelation.
XXL thanks to the curators here and in NI and the Republic. Also to Scobie Ward , an unfamiliar name to me but clearly generous in lending so much of his personal collection. Quite chuffed that Councils like North Ayrshire (the Saltcoats connection) and Dundee loaned Lavery masterpieces as well as big beasts like the D'Orsay, and Rodin.
    Pure joie de vivre !

Another visit to this wonderful museum. This time to enjoy a wee goldmine of a gallery.
The history of coal's industrial rise and fall in Scotland .The miners' pit life and domestic life. The shock of the strikes.
Really original idea for Nicky Bird to capture many of the same individuals and family groups four decades after Milton Rogovin's 1982 photographic journey through the mining communities in the Central belt.
    Memorable . Moving.

We visited here before going to One and we think we liked this one even better. Well laid out exhibitions that are nice to walk through. And please visit the lovely cafe inside.

Came here almost by accident. We spent the morning walking beside the Water of Leith and needed somewhere for lunch. The cafe was busy but had plenty of choice. I particularly enjoyed the mushroom salad.
I’m not a huge fan of modern art but there is quite a variety of art works on display so there was quite enough to keep the three of us interested for the hour or so we had available.

The gallery always has interesting exhibitions and is reasonably priced. The ticket lasts a year and you can visit again free of charge. There is also a pleasant cafe on site but the service is VERY slow.

The window art attracted us inside and what a wonderful warm welcome we received. This small gallery has lots of exciting work and sculpture wonderfully displayed. The owner is a beautiful lady with so much knowledge of current art works. The displays are very good and the work is exciting and different. We had a great time looking at and hearing about the artists work. Thank you so much for your time and showing us such interesting pieces. Do wish you every success in your venture. Wonderful art galley. We will visit again next time we get back to edinburgh. Highly recommended Rita and Graham from Lincolnshire. What a wonderful birthday I had in edinburgh. Thank you

Such a beautiful building, and very much in keeping with the grandness of the surrounding Edinburgh New Town. The interior really is something to behold: huge staircases, pillars, plasterwork, paintings, cornices, oak wood panelling, and all in the best possible taste. I have attended this venue for a conference and it was perfect; more recently my daughter and her husband chose to use the Royal College as their wedding venue. It was the perfect location for a grand wedding. They married in the library, and we we dined and later partied in the main hall. Perfect, just perfect.

While the crown jewels are the highlight of this exhibition there is much history about the Scottish monarchy, their lineage and conflict as well as the room where Mary Queen of Scots gave birth and other rooms recreated from the past.
The crown jewels are the highlight of and a culmination of all displays here
