Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
Learn more about our review moderation.

What travellers are saying
- Amy D.Edinburgh, UK3 contributionsLovely to play VR again after so long. Liking the newer titles.
I had ignored VR for a long time due to FOMO but it's nice to see that the world is as accessible as ever. I would recommend the Archery game, it's pretty intense and a good workout.Written 30 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I adore chihuahuas, and they were so well behaved. I basically fell in love with Cleopatra. Staff are wonderful. I cannot fault this place in the slightest.Written 30 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Peter A3 contributionsWe went with another couple that had not seen the Harry Potter movies
The escape room was fun and challenging, and the four of us worked well together and had enough to do to not step on each others toes.
We followed our successful adventure with potion cocktails that bubbled and smoked and changed colors magically. I danced around the table as per my instructions laughing along with the other guest.
The whole experience was a delightful surprise that exceeded our expectations and won over our friends.
But my top marks went to our superb host Dana, who gave us clues, and cheered us on. She announced our win and presented our drinks in their respendent glory. Her excitement was infectious, her smile contagious and her charm won over our cynical friends. She was loud and proud and perfect.
We traveled from Oklahoma to experience what Edinburgh has to offer, The dept of magic has been an unforgettable highlight that we have already recommended to friends on facebook and in person.Written 1 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They didn’t disappoint. The power feels great and they handle really well. The boost button gives you that overtake/ERS thrill. Even when someone spun out and everyone is speed limited it felt like a virtual safety car situation. To add to the joy of the kart was the new circuit. Amazing difference. So many more places to overtake and the raised levels and banked corners just add to the fun. There is also a live timing board that shows you how you did on your previous lap and where you ranked. All this just enhanced to my competitiveness.
Already making plans of when to go back and organise a Grand Prix.Written 23 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Fab instruction from Tayler who made sure we were all sensible and safe but still had fun!Written 28 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Phil10 contributionsWe spent a lovely hour with the cats at Maison de Moggy who were all clearly very well looked after and their comfort was obviously top priority for the staff. We were also introduced to two new cats who were being introduced to the cafe which was great to see how they do this. The staff are a real credit to the place, happy to answer any questions people had and above all they love the cats and it shows.
As for the cafe itself it was a very simple menu with tea/coffee and shakes along with a decent choice of traybakes which we really enjoyed. But don’t base your visit on the food/drinks as you really are there to enjoy the cats in this cosy little environment.
One little thing that we didn’t know, for those who also aren’t aware is that you have to take your shoes off but that wasn’t an issue for us.
Would definitely return again to see how the new kittens are getting on.Written 2 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This evening Honeypot hosted my daughters 7th birthday party and the children all had a fabulous time.
The staff were fantastically friendly amd knowledgeable, and very patient. The crafts were beautiful and the children had so much fun.
We then got out the back to have food and the views were outstanding.
A five star 🌟 establishment! Thank you very much to the staff and we look forward to our next visit.Written 4 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s a fun one.Written 12 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Matt SArlesey1 contributionI was a bit worried about dragging 10 hungover lads to play football the day after the first night - but it was so much fun. Everyone really enjoyed it. We were knackered afterwards - but if you've got a few competitive lads in the group and a stag you want to stitch up a bit - then I'd highly recommend. It's a great laugh.
Take plenty of water. And in Edinburgh there's a Sports Bar right next door, so you can have a beer before and few beers after with the football on the TV etc. The guy we had was great too. All in all I'd definitely recommend.Written 17 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jane1 contributionMy friend was sad because his long beard was going to be cut short. So, as a gift, I took him to Lawnmarket Old Time Photos. His bushy beard was the star of the show in his guise as a wild Jacobean Highlander. Wielding sword and shield my friend created lots of exciting memories to take away and share with family. Settling into civilian life neatly trimmed will not be so dull. Our Spanish photographer was friendly and efficient, so we were very satisfied with the resulting photos.Written 1 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David H2 contributionsMy teenaged boys and I loved our session. The equipment is great and feels authentic. The instructors are helpful and friendly - and squeezed in an extra game so we had a full hour of play. The setting is really good with natural changes in terrain as well as man made barricades.
And unlike paintball, it doesn't hurt! And you don't pay extra for ammo.

- dublinmumof32 contributionsCouldn't find fault with the day. Everyone had a great time. The marshalls were very safety concious, friendly and interacted brilliantly with the kids, aged 15,12 and 10. Good range of scenarios and we all want to go again!Written 6 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
