Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful afternoon with my daughter touring the gardens with Fiona.

First, a fabulous lunch at the visitor center, then a 90-minute walking tour, followed by a special tea service with sweets. It's a perfect way to spend the afternoon. The gardens have their own special allure, even in early winter!

Fiona felt like a friend by the time she set off for the rest of her day - thank you, Fiona!

As an introduction to Edinburgh, we took a delightful stroll through the well maintained Princes Street Gardens. The park includes flower gardens, numerous statues/ monuments/ sculptures, several cottages/ buildings, fountains, and an amphitheater. You are also provided excellent viewing points of Edinburgh Castle and other area landmarks. The park was filled with families spending a beautiful afternoon together, as well as many tourists. A great way to unwind and relax after an overnight flight. Take advantage of this green area when visiting Edinburgh.

Nice open park space on the south of the city centre. Could walk to the Royal Mile in about 25 minutes and not far from the Commonwealth pool either. Big student population in this area. During the festival very busy. Tennis courts and other activities available.

What a lovely hidden gem! The gardens are full of twists and turns, with a beautiful display to enchant around every corner. And a pleasant walk around the base of Arthur’s Seat to get there. The physic garden was particularly interesting, with the medicinal benefits explained for each. Well worth a visit, especially if you have a sunny (or at least dry!) day!

I was on a walking tour, and the tour guide led us into Dunbars Close. It is easy to miss - in fact the tour guide almost missed it. It is a delightful little garden - and an amazing space tucked behind the buildings. It is a very peaceful respite from the street noise.

This is not a must visit, but if you're already in the area, definitely have a walk there. This park is very beautiful, it has lots of pretty flowers and a cafe. It feels like a perfect place to spend a lovely sunny afternoon.

Yes, it's a bit overgrown but it was very peaceful and the amount of bees, butterflies and insects shows it's a great garden. We had a wee stroll around the garden and around the woods, I think there is further wooded walks but we didn't get the chance.

Hidden away up steps on Vennel just off the main street keep your eyes open for the direction sign on the side the Ferry Tap. The mosaic is 14m long, involved 100 people in its making and now sits in a lovely community garden. It is absolutely full of detail - it's fantastic, don't miss it.

I always like to nip into this small garden when passing by. The statue, with all the town crests, is a favourite feature.

Formally known as the Royal Terrace Gardens there are mature trees and various wooden carvings dotted around with easy walking paths, walked through to get to Carlton Hill.
