Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful, quiet, hidden gem in the middle of Edinburgh. Follow the Braid Burn through a valley surrounded by mature trees.

You can take a bus from Edinburgh. The walk to the farm is about 15 minutes. Close to the entrance there are three of the Highland Cows which you can see up close. Supposedly there is a herd up the hill. So we walked up the rocky steep path up the hill (difficult) for 45 minutes and saw three cows from far away. Also nice view up there. Great if you have a kid who is determined to see these cute cows.

A great place for a walk along a wee river. Often various waterfowl and many dog walkers.

The pathway is paved and there is a boardwalk out into the pond.

This park and walk is suitable for people if all fitness levels.

Cramond is a good place to visit for a relaxing time by the sea, perhaps a pub lunch. You can take a gentle walk to the Cramond Falls, which are about 2m high. Don't set Google maps for the Falls (it took us to the wrong place). Set it for the River Almond Walkway. Or set it for Cramond and walk about half a mile.

Hidden in Restilrig near Meadowbank Shopping Park, is Lochend Park. I find it very atmospheric, albeit a little creepy sometimes, but the many waterfowl, the dovecot, and the playground dispel and sense that this small, hidden oasis might be haunted.

An easy walk that will take less than an hour.

Out of the three loch's around Arthur's seat, Duddingston loch is my favourite. It's trickier to get to if you don't drive but once you're there you are greeted with breathtaking views of the loch and the bird sanctuary where swans, geese and ducks surround you, especially if you have food, they have no problem getting close, which is great fun for both adults and kids. Theres great attractions in the nearby village too, Dr Neil's garden, Duddingston kirk a 12th century church and Sheep's held Inn for food and drinks.
