Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Dawn AEdinburgh, UK29 contributionsBrilliant experience. I did Paddle Boarding level 1. Lovely and informative instructors who taught well and gave good tips. Beautiful location and the sunshine helped. Equipment supplied was excellent and kept me warm. Due to the amazing instructors I managed to not only stand up and paddle, I stayed dry! Very good value for money and would highly recommend it even if you have never done it. Great activity for all ages.Written 13 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- redeyebluesEdinburgh, UK1,312 contributionsBus 29 to Silverknowes Promenade will get you right there. Can see Cramond Island - in fact, a 15 min walk along the coast to Cramond Beach where you can cross the causeway to the island - check when it's low tide. Didn't see bathrooms except for at the waterfront cafe right in front of the bus stop (£3.50 for a tea). If you want a nicer beach (more attractive, more shops), go to Portobello. It's just a concrete promenade, pleasant enough and less crowded than New Haven.Written 1 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
