Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Heather M3 contributionsThe views were amazing! The ponies are so well looked after. All of the trek leaders are students and take time out of their day and work with the ponies/trekkers. All money goes towards the ponies. The weather was not always the best but that's Scotland for you! Ask the trek leaders about the ponies and you will learn the most amazing history about the ponies. Great experience all around. Any level riders are welcome, you just have to let them know what your riding abilities are!Written 18 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kim W14 contributionsThoroughly enjoyed the Braids Ride as a visitor to Edinburgh. The views were amazing and the ride was very invigorating! I felt safe and looked after on a well chosen horse. Loved it!!Written 10 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jem9xEdinburgh, UK3 contributionsI had not been on the back of a horse for best part of 20years so went along for my first lesson after seeing an advert, feeling slightly nervous. Six months later I am completely hooked. The ponies are so well trained and responsive and a delight to ride. The instruction is at your own pace. Everyone I have met is friendly and down to earth and I would thoroughly recommend it as the best fun way to get rid of all the stresses of the week!Written 7 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - theadviserEdinburgh, UK1 contributionIt was amazing. I had such a good time, I learnt so much. The horses are all treated with care and everyone was very nice. I did the week long camp and had an amazing time and made lots of new friends. and not very expensive to come for twenty pounds you can come for a hole session. I highly suggest it.Written 24 July 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 2stewartMorrisville, PA11 contributionsRodrick Rowan of RR Luxury Travel RRLuxurytravel.com was a wonderful tour guide, taking us to beautiful places around Edinburgh, including Roslyn's Chapel, Melrose Abbey, St. Andrew’s, Pittenweem, and Elie. He regaled us with Scottish humor, history and customs. We highly recommend him for a fun and educational journey to pretty places not far from Edinburgh.Written 10 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kay S1 contributionVery disappointed with a bespoke private tour of 8 days organised by Lang Atholl for 6 visitors from France. The luxury car we ordered was not provided, the driver unable to use satnav and lost his way en route to each programmed destination. He had no file with tickets for a ferry crossing or venues already prepaid. He had no smart phone so we were obliged to use our personal phones to contact the agency to forward us the ticket information for each step of our trip. A very stressful holiday and we certainly could not recommend this tour operator to anyone planning a similar holiday in Scotland!Written 28 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
