Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- jenned17Conyers, GA1,097 contributionsDo it! We had a beautiful day, sunny and nearly 70 degrees (Fahrenheit) to hike Arthur’s Seat. I think we opted for the more strenuous hike because it wasn’t for the faint of heart. Wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots and on a pretty day and weekend day, it can be crowded. You’re rewarded amazing views from the top. Took us a pit an hour round trip. So worth it and one of my favorite parts of our Scotland trip.Written 19 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bas-Si10Kerens, TX74 contributionsThe Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo should, IMHO, be on the bucket list of anyone who enjoys military bands, and especially bagpipes. The sight and sound of the massed pipers sends chills down the spine. We opted for the Gatehouse dinner package, which includes a nice dinner and wine in an intimate setting. We were then conductor our seats. The performance lasts about 1 1/2 hours and is staged inches courtyard of Edinburgh's historic castle. A truly memorable experience.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ang GScottish Highlands, UK625 contributionsCame as a group of 4 adults last week, what great fun!
The whole experience from start to end is very well done, lots of interesting facts and special effects. The actors were fantastic too, really made the experience what it is.
Had a good laugh and a few scares along the way, and the drop ride at the end was unexpected but great.
Would come back.Written 2 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. For £9 it’s well worth it.Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Helen G1 contributionThe brewing experience was a joint birthday gift for my husband and myself from the younger generation. It was a complete surprise and we all mucked in. The stqff were all friendly and helpful and guided us through the whole process. We sampled several of the beers on tap during the production process and soaked it all up with some delicious pizza. We were back this weekend for the bottling, having designed our own label, and the beer got the thumbs up from us all. A great experience.Written 15 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Tom B1 contributionOur tour guide Eric was a fountain of knowledge during the tour, he went above and beyond and even kept us out of the rain whenever he could.Written 10 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GemmaDundee, UK1 contributionTook my daughter here for a hot chocolate, as chihuahua owners we wanted to meet the little fluffs in the cafe and we weren’t disappointed. We had a fantastic time, the human staff were friendly and chatted away about all the chis and their personalities, it was such a lovely experience. The dogs are well cared for and happy I couldn’t find a single fault other than Jasmine didn’t spent time on our sofa 😂Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lcortenraadThe Hague, The Netherlands12 contributionsReally interesting tour of this small craft brewery in Edinburgh. Alex and Ellis were brilliant, told us interesting facts about beer making and the whole brewing process. Really cool to see how dedicated they are to making something special. And we got to taste so many of the beers - delicious! We’ll def be searching for them in the Netherlands. Thanks for the great afternoon guys!Written 22 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Ellie28 contributionsGreat experience, staff were friendly and talked a lot about the cats, even gave them treats and enrichment during the session so we could see all the cats up close. All the cats seem cared for and loved and they have lots of places to get up high, climb around and sunbathe in the big windows!
Only downside is there wasnt a lot of food options - only cakes, but i suppose may be so the cats dont get too tempted. Would be good to have the menu online though. Also the cake was so small for the price. Plenty of drink options though and got a flavoured lemonade to take away which was super nice :)Written 10 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Lots of different games to choose from (puzzles, bosses, moving targets etc.) so you can really try your skills once you get the grip! The atmosphere was also very lovely, the instructor explained everything clearly and we enjoyed it a lot! :)Written 13 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
