If you are in Glasgow and looking for real ale and great food this is the place to go. Situated a stone’s throw from the busy M8, and yet completely hidden from it, you might try to book a table for food since this place is jammers !!
Boasting a choice of Scottish and English ales, I could have definitely tried 5 or 6 which were new to me.
The food was excellent (started with batter-encrusted haggis, and followed up with a massive piece of beer-battered haddock with real peas (not the awful mushy ones which now seem to be the norm). I don’t know if they were short-staffed that night but the lady serving the locals looked like the road runner, zipping from bar to table, and to her credit, nobody appeared to have been left waiting !!
This is real gem of a local well worth searching out in Glasgow’s West End. Ideal if visiting the King’s Theatre, and a 10-15 minute walk from where the 500 airport bus drops off.
