- Alice C1 contributionWe only had one full day in Glasgow, and this was the perfect way to see all of the major downtown sites. Zharra was phenomenal -- knowledgeable, thoughtful and fun to be with. It was unbelievable how much ground we covered in just over four hours. There was a lot of walking, but there were breaks along the way as we listened to fascinating details at Glasgow Cathedral and the Necropolis. We also learned about important figures in Glasgow history, especially St. Mungo, and the connection between Nelson Mandela and Glasgow. We had a visitor from Tasmania with us and she loved the whole event. I have lived in Glasgow since 2007 but learned new information from David. Keep up the good work folks. Also I learned a bit about Glasgow and some of its characters. We took around 2 and a half hours but had a lunch break in the middle however I reckon this can be done in around 90 minutes so not too long. Inflexible about Islay distillery tour requests. Nonetheless, made good selections even though some were not what was requested

Hotel on Islay was magnificent but remote. 40 sterling for taxi to town for dinner. Hotel had absolutely spectacular breakfast with the best homemade croissants I have EVER had. But did not serve dinner so had to go to Bowmore village, 40 sterling taxi ride away.
Hotel in Inverness on a spectacular lake. But so remote from town it was impossible to go there for dinner. No reliable taxi service. Our guide, Ricky, was fantastic—punctual, professional, and absolutely personable. He made us feel at ease right from the start and truly showcased his passion for Scotland. Ricky’s extensive knowledge brought the history and culture to life, and he was incredibly flexible, tailoring the itinerary to suit our interests. From the stunning landscapes to hidden gems, every moment was a delight. As first-time visitors to Scotland, we couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to this beautiful country. Our guide James was excellent, adapting to our pace but also keeping an eye on the time. Having his Scottish flag with him for photos on top of the hill was a nice highlight.
