Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Lynne G4 contributionsAs a regular visitor I really enjoy the free guided tours and today's was no exception.
Our tour guide was Wilma and she was very informative and made it fun with her stories. It was entitled saints and sinners and I leaned so much.
I especially enjoyed the St Nicholas stained glass very apt so near to Christmas.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful and I'll definately be back for some more tours which bring the artifacts to life .

Hard to describe just how delightfully charming the experience is. I took my wife for a birthday surprise - told her nothing about where or what we were going to do - she loved it.
Friendly staff. We will return with friends.Written 5 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The house itself is quite interesting, having had a tour once, but I prefer the gardens, and being able to take my dog with me is a bonus, as often stately homes gardens restrict dogs. I think overall, they are well-kept, with some lovely quirky little features if you look hard enough. However, it is the first time I have visited since the parking charges were introduced, and I think it is an absolute disgrace being forced into paying a fee of ÂŁ5 even if you are only there for a matter of mins. The machine does not allow you to pay for the time you are there, but forces you to pay a flat fee of ÂŁ5! This may be forgivable and possibly expected if perhaps you are spending all day in the country park and eating at the cafe, but on a fairly miserable day, when you are there just to have a quick wander round the grounds, it is entirely unreasonable. It's a shame, but this has impacted my desire to re-visit what was once a beautiful place to spend time in. Terrible decision in my opinion, and counter-productive if you would like to encourage visitors to this attraction, very disappointing.Written 17 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MELODY JGlasgow, UK74 contributionsDr. William Hunter, an anatomist, bequeathed the University of Glasgow his extensive collection, which allowed The Hunterian to begin publication in 1807. Initially, the University of Glasgow housed everything in a single building, but over time, they relocated various components around campus. Current holdings include the Hunterian Zoology Museum for zoology, the Art Gallery for art, and the University Library for books and manuscripts. Discover all of this and more in this extensive and fascinating collection!Written 13 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael RCounty Durham, UK66 contributionsThis is a lovely little museum to go to if you’re in the area. We really liked how religions were placed next to together in a really nice and informative way, including a great area for children and school trips. It’s especially nice that like all other museums we went to in Glasgow this was free!Written 3 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BDP1United Kingdom66 contributionsI enjoyed my visit to view the modern art on display here.
I'm not generally a fan of modern art but I found that the spacious layout of the rooms and exhibits enhanced the experience for me.
Entry is free and there is a shop and other facilities on site.
I would certainly recommend visiting even if you only have a passing interest in art.Written 27 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Laura L was very interesting and brought the tour to life as she had studied there before the fire.Written 31 May 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jacqueliengLondon, UK26 contributionsSpent an afternoon browsing, Glasgow is famous for and has lots of museums and galleries so hard to choose. - Inspire493440857181 contributionSuch a cool place, a real creative hub. I love to lounge there with a coffee and my notebook, and the exhibits are regularly refreshed.Written 14 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kevin M-SBlairgowrie, UK170 contributionsA bit off the beaten track - this gallery is tucked away in the middle of the concrete jungle of Strathclyde University's campus. It's a free admission art gallery with a lively calender of exhibitions - some interesting, some abstract, some mediocre, its very much a case of 'suck it and see'. At various times of the year they have sales where the exhibits can actually be bought - and you will be helping to keep the place open in doing so!Written 2 June 2011This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
