We had an excellent tour of the stadium. Everyone was extremely welcoming and our tour guide Ricky was both engaging and incredibly knowledgeable. A great part of our visit to Glasgow. Would highly recommend.

We both genuinely had a fantastic experience. For me, I was unsure what to expect as a poor magic performance can be really disappointing; but it was a really, really good show! The audience were right up front with the table so we could see closely what Billy was doing - there were no cheap tricks using obfuscation. Not only were all the tricks impressive, but I enjoyed the storytelling aspect of the performance as well. I believe every single person in the audience took part in some way (myself included) which made the experience all the more personal and enjoyable. I don't think it's possible to go see this performance and not enjoy yourself - the whole thing was well planned and orchestrated. I hope to see Billy perform again sometime soon!

The favorite part of this tour was simply the fact we booked through Stewart at TartanTours. The entire day was perfect! Stewart and his team are ultimate professionals, and the epitome of "Scottish hospitality"! Even on a cool, partly-rainy day in Scotland, were were comfortable the entire day thanks to Stewart. We are devoted "Outlander" fans from the US, but thanks to the TV show we're now very fascinated with Scottish history. Stewart did a fantastic job weaving the facts and fiction into a most memorable day. Even if you're not familiar with the TV show, all of the places we toured have major historical significance. TV producers are obviously going to use the most picturesque and interesting locations for authenticity!

Stuart was amazing from first contact online thru our tour!
I arranged a private tour with him to 3 castles in Outlander for my husband and I when our cruise ship stopped in Scotland 1 day. He created a timeline and itinerary specific for our ships times. My husband had no knowledge of Outlander before this and loved Stuart and truly enjoyed the whole day! Stuart even introduced us to a local Scottish beverage and had snacks for us for the day. He was a true pleasure and made our day in Scotland remarkable. I would highly recommend him- you will not be disappointed!

We took two trips with Tartan Tours. The first was on Tuesday, May 21, around Loch Lomond (and including Luss and Inverary) and the second was on Wednesday, May 22, to Ayrshire and Burns Country. Both tours lasted the entire day, with Stewart Gunn providing lively commentary about what we were seeing. On Thursday, May 23, Stewart met us again in the early evening for a complementary tour of the Greenock and Gourock area where we were staying.

We were staying in Gourock because Tartan Tours recommended the Spinnaker Hotel, where we had a sea view room. We will be forever grateful for this recommendation because it located us in the real Scotland and not in a central Glasgow hotel catering to large groups of tourists (although central Glasgow was easily accessible through the nearby ScotRail station). The staff at the Spinnaker were, very much like Stewart Gunn himself, attentive to our needs and models of Scottish hospitality.

We were fortunate to have beautiful weather for our ramble through Loch Lomond country – bright blue skies through the late afternoon. We also enjoyed the ferry ride back from Kilcreggan to Gourock. The next day we were again fortunate with the weather. The rain held off until the early afternoon. We were able to do the outside parts of our tour first in comparative comfort and then stay inside as the rain began.

Stewart Gunn was an utterly charming host. We had an immediate connection with his love of all things Scottish. The conversation never flagged. In getting to know him we felt we were getting to know – in a truly unique and compelling way – the real Scotland. Thank you, Stewart, for a marvelous beginning to what was an unforgettable two weeks traveling around Scotland!!

What a wonderful time my cousin and I had as Stewart as our guide. Authentic, knowledgeable, passionate, and very personable. It is great to be with someone who not only loves his culture and history of Scotland, but shares it in a way where you feel you are back in time envisioning all the stories. We are already planning our next adventure to Scotland with Stewart as our guide once again! Thank you Stewart for your passion and sense of humor. It was truly a blessing to meet you and to leave not only as customers, but as friends! Many Blessings! …Heidi

This was a brilliant day. Traveling with my elderly mom who had never been to Scotland, Chris was recommended by a colleague. I was in contact with Chris in advance to describe some physical limitations my mom had, and Chris carefully planned a perfect day for us outside of Edinburgh. His knowledge and humor, paired with his conscientious concern for my mom’s abilities, made for one of the top memories of our entire trip. Castles, villages, a trip to a loch, Highland cattle, and a thorough weaving of history and present-day Scotland. Simply delightful.

Spent a wonderful day touring and learning about Scotland from Stewart, who truly is a local Scot with a great passion for Scotland. Our tour group of 4, arrived by Emerald Princess and spent the day learning about the history of Greenock and the Clyde River. We also learned about the importance that the area had with respect to World War II. Our tour included learning about Sir William Wallace, Braveheart with visiting areas where he made history. As we spent the day with Stewart driving us about, he took us to monuments and view points, many of which motor coaches would not have access to. At the historical monuments and locations, Stewart would take quick group photos of us and then emailed them to us after the tour. Thank you Stewart for a GREAT day in Scotland!

If you want to see the “ Real Scotland” you must book one of the many tours Tartan Tours has to offer. Stewart masterfully crafted our four day Scottish tour based on our interests. He was able to curate a trip of a lifetime , keeping in mind my love of small villages, castles and picturesque landscapes and my cousin’s love for William Wallace and Robert Bruce. We were able to see so many beautiful and historic sites in our limited time in Scotland.
Prior to the trip Stewart was a pleasure to work with, I was able to communicate my dietary needs( vegetarian and gluten free) and he did some preplanning to scope out restaurants near the hotel where I would be able to find food options.
From the moment Stewart picked us up at the airport to the moment he dropped us off at our hotel back in the city for the end of last leg of our vacation, Stewart was warm, welcoming, patient and attentive. He greeted us enthusiastically each morning he picked us up in his comfortable vehicle, with a personalized snack and water waiting for us, and ensured we had reservations for dinner each evening.
The tour package we purchased included lodging and breakfast at the Spinnaker Hotel. The lodging and hospitality was unsurpassed and the views of the River Clyde from the hotel were breathtaking.
This was truly an experience I will always remember.
