Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A very warm and inviting space with a wonderful selection of malts. Chris and Olivia (!) were fantastic. They were very welcoming, and poured us some outrageously splendid drams. Once they knew our tastes, they picked some of the best whisky we tasted on our 3-week visit to Scotland. We spent 3 amazing evenings there.

For me and my dear friends (Pieter Bruegel and Albrecht Dürer included), this is the best whisky bar in Inverness... hands down.
    We will be back.

Went specifically for the traditional music and the pub didn't disappoint. Great lively atmosphere, with pleasant staff, and a good selection of drinks. Easy to find too. We will be back.

It's hard to leave a review as we booked to see a gig here as something to do during our visit but didnt really spend any time in the bar/restaurant area.

The gig was upstairs in the Mad Hatters bar which was small but great for an intimate gig and exactly what I like as a musical experience.

As for the gig itself it was 5 stars without doubt - absolutely blown away by the performers (Kezia Gill and Morganway) - well worth checking out if anyone is interested (country/rock).

A great experience overall and took me back to my youth in terms of a music venue - old school but brilliant for it.

Lovely pub, very COVID secure. Great staff. I had a blood orange gin and tonic which was really tasty. I had to catch a trin otherwise I would have had another!

What has happened to this place!? Last went back during the pandemic and it was awesome, Live bands and entertainment, now its just a big room with someone randomly on the stage playing Spotify. What have you done? You took what you had and just sort of went I'm reverse. No terrace any more, no cocktails, no food. A strange sort of shell of a place. Needs a total rethink, there are plenty other places to go.

We went here on both the friday and Saturday of a stag do and were made welcome both times, even when the stag was dressed up.
Great tables that are obviously well looked after and at £1 a game, about average in price.
The drinks were reasonably priced too.

I used to drink in here years ago, so popped in for a bit of nostalgia. Friendly bar staff, good range of beer. It has changed. The sawdust on the floor has gone, which is a shame. It really confused the tourists. I prefer boozers without music, but the country channel was belting out. I guess they have to cater for all. These places are dying out due to competition from the chains.
Support independent pubs, or everywhere will just be a Weatherspoons.

Called in for a quick hour or so of pool with the children. Staff friendly and showed us up to the main pool hall where there are numerous tables to play on. Equipment provided and the cost was £7.50 for one hour or £10 for two. Very reasonable and wide variety of drinks available.

Had a great night at the 90s night in Club Tropicana. Was welcomed with a bottle of prosecco and reserved seating.

Staff were lovely, especially Chad the owner. Booze was cheap and music was amazing.

Some mink stole my phone right enough but nothing to do with the club itself and they were really helpful trying to find it for me.

We will be back here next time!

After having a surprisingly good dinner in the main restaurant, we were a little disappointed by the bar. Staff were stressed and not very engaging. We had a large number of rather expensive whiskies but this did not seem to make an impression...

Like the title says, after getting a new facelift outside I went in with my friend and it was busy downstairs so we went upstairs but it was bit chilly so after a while we got seated downstairs much warmer. Food was piping hot for both of us so enjoyed that but for the toilets they are bit far away . I don't think we will be back as it's not the same as it was before. I've since heard about sticky carpets etc so if I were you reading this visitors alike, don't go here.

Belter of a night at Upstairs Inverness! It was on Friday, and the place was buzzing! Packed to the rafters. Now, usually, it's all about the dance nights and the bands, the comedy night was amazing!

First off, the comedians were top-notch. Seriously, I haven't laughed that hard in ages. And it wasn't just me haha!

But it wasn't just the comedians that made the night. It was the atmosphere, you know? The energy in that room was electric.

I've been to a fair few gigs and dance nights here, they never disappoint. The vibe, the people, the drinks – it's all spot on.

So yeah, if you're ever in Inverness check out Upstairs. Whether it's for the comedy, the music, or just a night out with mates.
