Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This tour is an absolute must if you’re in the area! My wife and I were on our honeymoon and booked this for the two of us and we absolutely loved it! We had the best time with our tour guide Liam who joined us while we had our tastings and was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about whisky and the history of the area! We also got to taste a few additional local whiskeys out of the boot with a traditional quaich. Please don’t hesitate to book this, you won’t regret it!

This was a shot in the dark to go to dinner at a strangers house, and we couldn't be more happier that we did. We really wanted the full Scottish friendly food experience, and Karen provided just that, in her beautiful home. She made some great foods that were on the Scottish "must try" list, but she also accommodated our squeamish teenagers that wont try seafood. The food couldn't have been any more "Farm to table" that what we had, it was freshly picked, cooked to perfection, and the company and conversation was marvelous. Wish we lived in the same country, so we could do it again! Treat yourself and family to this dinner and host.

I can’t say enough good things about our day with Gavin/ Inverness Whiskey Tours, it exceeded all our expectations. I planned this day for my husband, as he is the Scotch whiskey drinker in our family, but this tour had plenty of things for me as well. First, Gavin is from the Highlands so we learned about whiskey, the community and the beautiful lands. We took the tour at Glenmorangie and it was informative & fun, finishing with a whiskey tasting. Next up was a tasting at Balblair Distillery, one of the oldest in Scotland. Their18 year old whiskey is a must sample! Along our route, Gavin made time for scenic stops/photos and more whiskey tasting. He picked several whiskeys that I enjoyed and had some big peaty/smokey whiskeys that my husband loved. Gavin recommended lunch options for us and we choose an outdoors, pub lunch in Dornoch, and then on to Dunrobin Castle for the tour and falconry exhibition, both were wonderful. On our way back to Inverness we sampled a few more whiskeys and made a quick stop at Black Isle Brewing for a tasting of their beers. (Excellent!). In addition to all this we saw Highland cows, Shetland ponies, seals, birds and the most fabulous vistas. I highly recommend this tour!

This review is actually for December of 2022, but I am unable to select that far back in time. BUT I think it speak volumes to what a great trip we had that I am leaving this review over a year later.

Gordon was a wonderful host and arranged great stops along the way. He showed us some historical sites and had a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding areas. There were 4 us in total and he was able to accommodate us comfortably.

Planning the trip was easy and we were able to say different places we would like to visit and he worked on making it happen. We were a challenging group because it was winter and still very much dealing with COVID restrictions, but he succeeded nonetheless. Then to add more challenges, we needed to adjust the trip due to an extra experience we wanted to add on and he was very flexible there. One of the stops he arranged, ended up being just the 5 of us and the staff which led to a very intimate tasting experience where we left feeling like locals.

All in all, it was a wonderful time and if/when we make it back to the highlands, we plan to book another visit with Gordon. I'm only sorry I did not get this review posted sooner!

Booked this event through Tripmasters when I was planning our trip to Scotland and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. We went early, were greeted by Charlie, went in took a look around and they were packed!! Nice and cozy but not your typical pub, it felt like you were invited to your best friend's home to sit around by the fire, sip some whiskey, tell some stories and be serenaded by an amazing superstar named David. We were treated and thoroughly felt like family, enjoying amazing Whiskeys from the region, stories of Scotland and song. Charlie has a wealth of knowledge of drink and David has the same of song and history of The Highlands. They are a terrific pairing for an amazing evening if you are traveling to Inverness, Scotland. It has been the best night of our trip so far and it will be hard to beat.
Thank you for an excellent experience Charlie and David and the MALT ROOM

I can’t recommend this tour with Craig enough! We did this tour as part of a shore excursion on a cruise and it was by far my entire family’s favorite day! He made such each member of my family, including two young daughters, had an exceptional time. He goes above and beyond to ensure his guests comfort and delight with the sights. He kindly discussed various options with me via email before the day to best plan a tour my family would enjoy. He was also such a wonderful example of a Scottish gentleman! He was very easy to talk to and helped us understand the area much better than we could have on our own. He was very patient with both of my two kids. I loved all the places we went. I even had a couple tears while we were riding in the car from the beauty of the surroundings. If I ever go back to Scotland, and I hope I do, I’d want to do another tour with Craig.

Great time. Beautiful venue. Our tour guide Zoe did a great job. Go. (Here I am filling in space. Now filling in more space because TripAdvisor makes me type at least 100 characters. Which is stupid. )
