Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Pretty well laid out gardens. Has also got internal areas with cacti and air plants. Externally good. Has full facilities and cafe. I made donation which is voluntary

Kind of haphazard layout and very steep with an awkward turn off the main road, but worth the effort. Great plants for sale.

Interesting history of the park. It was named after a nurse that was executed in Belgium for helping people escape during world was 1. Peaceful location along the river Ness

If you are into Gardens then this is a must see. The gardens are off the B861, a country road out of Inverness, and up on the hillside overlooking the city Kessock Bridge and Moray Firth. A beautiful vista awaits anyone taking the time to venture here. However, be warned, the road to the gardens is easily missed ( my own experience) as the entrance could be mistaken as the entrance to someone's home. Well it us but drive up it and you will be rewarded. It may be that Oldtown of Leys is the name of the farm, where these gardens are situated.

In fact, Inverness Botanical Gardens are a poor
2nd to this garden. From the moment you step round the corner of the information hut, your eye is cast across a wondrous vista of mature trees, herbaceous and beautiful borders nestled amongst 3 levels of ponds, which aids drainage.

What is more remarkable is this was the vision of a lady, wife of a cattle farmer, who saw potential some 30-40 years ago and decided to turn an open field that was surplus to requirements, into an aesthetically pleasing garden.

How do I know all this? Whilst visiting with my family on a fairly dreich (Scots word for damp, rainy day) I ventured across to the information centre whereupon I saw a lady in amongst the borders on her hands and knees, tending to her border. I soon discovered that this was the owner.

I was able to establish that she and her husband had invested their own time, money and toil, into producing a garden where I run out of superlatives. Go see for yourself and take the kids. Why? Placed throughout the garden are customised musical instruments with sheet music and even In the rain they are all functional. The kids would love them.
