Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The war museum is something to behold. We have been twice and still not seen it all. The Fort itself is outstanding . Visit 3 soon

Wonderful staff, brilliant tour and still a fully working distillery. Love the whisky especially the 14 year port cask, definitely worth stopping here.

Excellent river to walk along. Our hotel room had a great view of the River Ness in Inverness. Great to wake up and sit with a cup of tea and just stare out at the River.

First of this museum is part of the Fort George. Second the museum is a history on a former Royal 👸 Regiment that belonged to the late Prince 🫅 Philip. Lastly, it is fun 🤩 place to go .

Nice short walking area around the locks. We did not have the opportunity to see a boat go through the locks…that would have make the experience even better. Lots of little local restaurants and shops surround the locks. There is a parking area near the locks. You pay to park with the machine. Credit card is needed. Fee to park is reasonable.

    WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!

We rented the treehouse for a few nights and the weather wasn't ideal and sunny but that did not ruin the experience. The place is nice, cute, cosy and privat. We went for a walk around and got soaking wet but had an amazing walk. Adventure time!!
Got back and had a bonfire with some drinks and snacks, the next day we woke up, let's say, gently hungover and didn't feel like doing anything but we had archery lessons booked. Boy oh boy were we happy after it. The owner/teacher Dave was incredibly professional, helpful and fun. We had a good laugh, some healthy competition and really helpful tips to improve our aim. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer for axe throwing experience, but I guess we'll leave it for next time.
This getaway was a present for myself and my fiancé for our birthday (same day 🙈) and we could not be more happy to have had Dave hosting our stay. Don't know when, but we will come back. Thank you once more!!

Some people may be dismissive of Inverness Cathedral as it is a 'modern ' cathedral. They are rather missing the point as it is historically important as the first new Protestant Cathedral to be built in Britain since the Reformation. It is also the most northerly cathedral in Britain.

I was given a warm welcome on entry and there wasn't a 'mandatory' £2 entrance fee when I visited although a donation or buying the guide book was appreciated.

I liked the cathedral which is a very good example of Gothic revival. It has a lovely carved choir screen which also serves as the war memorial to the members of the congregation who lost their lives in the First World War. Their names are inscribed on the bottom panels of the screen.

The carving on the choir stalls is exquisite and the Caen stone altar and reredos are stunning - take time to admire the workmanship.

There are some very good stained glass windows too.

The Butterfly Memorial is a touching tribute to those who died during the covid pandemic as well as a reminder to all of us of a black period in modern history.

There's a lot to find and enjoy in the Cathedral.

Arrived with a group 10 young people. The three members of staff were absolutely fantastic! Professional and catered to the needs of the clients successfully. It appeared that all of the staff really enjoyed their job too.

We were lucky to arrange a private tour of Boleskine House and grounds for a small group of people. Construction work continues, but the place already has a lot to offer to anybody interested in history or natural beauty of the area. Our guide provided a fantastic tour with access to both gardens and many rooms of the house. Magnificent place of Scottish history which leaves you wanting to learn more and to see it again. Visits can be arranged via Boleskine House Foundation's website, highly recommended!

Myself and my little sister, from the western isles, as well as our sister in law came to visit Loch Ness alpacas this morning. We couldn’t have had a better experience! Having never seen alpacas before, Fiona our guide was fantastic at explaining everything about them, as well as the individual alpacas needs. My younger sister hasnt stopped talking about it all day! We had an absolutely fantastic time and will not hesitate to book again!

The best view is from the opposite river bank as even when you walk up to it is boarded up and being renovated so you can't get a view of it or anywhere else in the city.

Here's just some of the pictures that battlefield select tour's took us on a trip to the menin gate August 2019 it was a great fantastic trip run by battlefield select tour's Inverness and the overnight accommodation from hull to Zeebrugge was fantastic with excellent views of the sun setting from Zeebrugge to hull coming bk pictured, the overnight ferry from hull to Zeebrugge was an absolute pleasure and delightful DB&B and vice versa coming home. I'd recommend battlefield select tour's Inverness for ANYONE doing group bookings for battlefield tour's as you've got this tour guide 24/7 on the bus with a microphone telling you about how things are going ahead for the tour with a luxury coach. Toilet on board.

This was booked as I wanted a challenging experience for my birthday! Our guide Natasha was brilliant from start to finish. Very knowledgeable, friendly, chatty, helpful nothing was too much trouble for her and how she managed to make such amazing food in an outdoor kitchen is beyond belief.

We had quite a mix of weather, sunny spells, cloud, rain, wind, thunderstorms. None of this made it any less enjoyable, in fact the strong wind and high waves on Loch Ness made for an exciting day! We got the sails out and later had to raft 2 canoes together for more stability, hard work but great fun.

We camped at some lovely places along the way and beautiful varied scenery along the canals and lochs. Portering the canoes and all equipment around the lock gates especially at Fort Augustus can take a bit of time.

I would like to say a big thank you not only to Natasha (our guide), but also the 5 ex commandos that completed the group and made our adventure more interesting!!!

Would happily recommend this trip to anyone that enjoys a bit of outdoor adventure.
