5000 Poppies Wow! Beautiful display Donation to get in Tearooms and shop on site Beautifully manicured lawns Quite emotional
This small museum may have been one of my most memorable sites in our visit to Scotland and inspired me to pick up a couple of books on the history of the regiment.

Elcho Castle

Had a great visit to Elcho Castle yesterday Wonderful castle, mainly under cover (just in case of a shower in Scotland) with lots of nooks and crannies to explore and stunning views from the rooftop walk.
The staff are wonderful throughout all visit Scotland sites but the recommendation to visit this castle was a wonderful detour we are happy we made.

Scone Palace

Stunning place to visit, beautiful views and great for all the family with a play Park and animals to see for the children
Even on a rather wet day this impressive site was well worth visiting - surrounded by atmospheric woodlands that contain the chapel where Scottish Kings were crowned and an ancient mossy graveyard.

Huntingtower Castle
#4 of 22 Sights & Landmarks in Perth
Highlight was the friendly site manager Alison who have a great run down if its history and grey good recommendations for other places to see and where to find decadent local scones with cream and jam.
The battlements are accessible via spiral staircases and offer a breathtaking view of the countryside.

Stanley Mills
#5 of 22 Sights & Landmarks in Perth
It is so nice to see a historic building renovated and put to good use; the site has homes within the restored mill as well as the mille exhibition.
This is the real deal - a very sobering view of what those cotton mill sweat shops really looked like.
