Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great communications before the trip from Alex, first to postpone the trip due to bad weather, then to rebook and re-confirm later. This continued on the day, with both of the guys giving plenty of information on what was happening, where we were going and the wildlife. The trip lasted about 2 3/4 hours and we sailed round Ulva due to the good weather, seeing eagles in 3 locations. We stopped part way round in a sheltered spot for tea and coffee which was most welcome.
Alex says at the beginning that he'll make sure people on both sides of the boat get to see the eagles and he's try to his word, making sure that the boat is positioned well for all to see. One tip for photographers - tune up on the gulls when they throw bread in at first. You want to get the settings right for when the eagles come towards the boat!
Of course the white-tailed (sea) eagles stole the show, but we could also see a big herd of deer on Ulva and the outline of crofts from long ago, picked out in the low sun.
It's a great trip for both wildlife watchers and photographers. It's easily the equal of elephants in Sri Lanka or whales in Iceland.

We went across to Staffa and then on to the Treshnish islands with Turus Mara last week and it really was a great day out. The crew were first class, taking care of everything and explaining all sorts of things throughout the trip. We had almost 2 hours off the boat at Staffa. Fingels cave is just amazing and really is worth the trip on its own. But we saw an amazing pod of dolphins, maybe up to 30 of them as they entertained us for 10 minutes or more. Lots of other birds and many seals, some with their pups were seen throughout. Just fabulous, so glad we did this, thanks very much

We had a magical day on the Sea Life Mull tour. Our guide Jimmy was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the wildlife in the area. We saw soooo many dolphins! At one point we had a pod following us at the bow of the boat, another pod out to the side of us leaping out of the water and another pod swimming toward us. We saw a minke whale, sea eagles and many other sea birds. I learned so much and we thoroughly enjoyed it. What a great way to spend our first wedding anniversary!

We had a fantastic guided walk to the lighthouse. The guide was excellent, incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Very good value also. His description (sorry forgot his name) of the flora, animals and general insights and knowledge of the area and environment really made it intersecting. I’d strongly recommend this walk and the centre.

We chartered Tobermory Tours for a special 60th birthday trip out towards Calve Island and then past the lighthouse at Rubha Nan Gall. Lyndsey was so helpful when I was planning the trip and we had such fun. It was the most memorable and enjoyable way to celebrate my big birthday with a group of family and friends. We saw some seals on the way past Calve, and took snacks and drinks with us for sustenance! A great experience and one that I'll cherish for a long time. I'd love to go on one of the regular Tobermory Bay Tours one day, too!

Lovely company, small with friendly knowledgeable staff who sailed all over to give us a great experience with minke whales, porpoise, sea eagles, seals and so on.

Although we only spotted some seals and what could have been a porpoise the trip was still great fun! Any questions were answered really well by Roddy and the skipper Grant made the trip very smooth. They tried their very best to ensure we saw some of the wildlife living off the Mull coast, sadly it was not our day! I would definitely recommend the trip however as the banter was friendly, the stories about the wildlife were both enjoyable and informative and the whiskey and shortbread at the end was a definite bonus!

The Mingary was captained by Mark. He was very knowledgeable about the history, geography and geology of Loch Sunart. It was a very pleasant trip and so exciting to get so close to Isle of Mull.
