Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a great place to enjoy heights like never before. The walk up is spectacular and should not be missed. The formations are fascinating.

We had a great day at the famine village. Pat was an excellent guide and gave us a lot of information. He had a great knowledge of the time he was speaking about and one of the houses has been his home. We actually learned about the origin of some of the the saying we use and where they came from. Tea/coffee and a scone is included in the entry price. There is a lovely beach just a short distance away. Really recommend this outing.

Room by Room we looked into the lives of the place that is full of humidity and history. We found dehumidifiers scattered in the place which leads one to think there is a continuous problem. The Philly connection with this place is ironic.

Stunning area and beautiful beyond words however we experienced something that has left us both shaken and we will not return to Malin Head. We drove on to the other side of the head and parked up on an elevated parking area with a beautiful scenic view. We saw a little beach below and decided to walk down to it and take photos. As we were taking photos a car beeped and pulled up. The man had come from the farm near the beach. He was incredibly aggressive and very threatening in his behaviour. I won’t post the vile racist slurs and language here but it was not pleasant. I tried to reason with him and apologised that I didn’t realise the beach was private property. My mistake if it was and I would accept that. However his attitude was becoming even more aggressive. We went on through his gate and walked down the road and he followed us in his car. I was sure he was about to start again but two cyclists came along and I flagged them down. I explained that I thought we were possibly in danger of being assaulted. The man had left his car at this point. We walked by and the cyclists agreed that he looked at us all in an aggressive manner.
This is such a sad thing to happen and I know this individual is not typical of the lovely folk here but it has left us very shaken.
So by all means enjoy the majestic scenery but if you do find yourself near that beach - below the elevated parking area. Please be aware of the individual who lives close by and take care.

This Castle has been beautifully restored. I love that they have left part of the 16th Century addition open so you can see the construction rather than trying to rebuild it. Lots of information is provided, both in the information sheets and the exhibits but I especially enjoyed the models so I could better visualise how the castle changed over time.
A special mention to the staff who were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

A group of 10 people from work went to Fanad Lighthouse last week- it was a terrific experience.
We had coffee ( local Donegal brand New Kid Coffee) and treats at the shop /cafe before our tour- thank you ladies for the lovely welcome to Fanad -a great start to any day with the most fantastic view to savour with our early caffeine fix.

We did the virtual experience and all I can can say is that the experience is incredible - we all felt we at sea on board a sailing ship .We then did the lighthouse tour with plenty of time for our questions by the tour guide and the view from the top is worth all the winding steps - something we will remember for a long time to come.
We learned so much that morning -thank you all staff in Fanad Lighthouse - a wonderful experience.

A world class art collection in the house of Derek Hill and always something new the gallery. Our guide , Kevin, was the most extraordinary font of art history and local stories.

The fort itself is well worth a look, reconstruction though it is. There is a path taking you the 200 yards uphill from the small car park. The views even from the car park are worth the visit in themselves. The notice board in the car park has adequate information about the site. Add to your list if in the area.

The priest who signed this place for tourism was genius. A place not many would find is now a little destination so see how folks used to live.

The fairy bridge was just a few minute drive from our B&B and was worth seeing for its neat structure. At the carpark you can see the beautiful sand beach and if you go left the path takes you to the bridge.

It was a great experience! Views from the hill are wonderful. The alpacas are very friendly and easy to handle for kids. The guides were very nice and knew how to take perfect pictures. I highly recommend this experience!

We were there for a couple of days to celebrate a wedding.

The room we had was not what we had reserved (not facing the view we paid for) however was a ginormous room with a HUGE bathroom. The hotel gave us a discount for a future visit.

In between the wedding celebrations we enjoyed walking around the property, drinks in the pub and fantastic breakfasts!!!

We have been to the area a few times and this location is excellent.

Roads very narrow in places but it does seem to be a one way system unofficially and up near the top you are quite close to the edge maybe not for inexperienced drivers but take your time and you will be grand .
