Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Sydney H2 contributionsThis was by far one of my favorite evenings in Ireland. Our storyteller, Johnny, was wonderfully engaging - we were so immersed that the time passed in a blink. I cannot recommend this enough for a warm, cozy, informative history of the storytelling traditions in Ireland!!Written 2 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - redecoWarren, MA9,433 contributionsThe Irish House Party takes place at The Lansdowne Hotel which occupies an 18th century Dublin mansion. Dinner is on the parlor floor and consists mostly of Irish menu favorites. I chose the Beef & Guinness stew and started with a salad. Dinner quality is good...tables are mostly larger and seat a dozen or so guests. Dinner is at 6:30 and the show follows at 8:00.
Showcasing Irish traditional music and dance, the entertainment is informative and foot tapping. Enjoy!Written 13 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The dancing, lead singer and other musicians here were the best we saw. Some of the dancers were Riverdance professionals and it showed. The singer had an absolutely beautiful voice and the other musicians were first rate. Loved the show!
However, the food was awful. Worst meal during a month long trip to Ireland. My vegetarian shepherd's pie tasted like it had been frozen too long and then microwaved too long. Dry, old. The others at my table said the fish and beans was almost inedible. Mackerel appetizer was tough and off. Biggest advantage of dinner is closer seating than show only. I'd rather pay more and have a decent meal.Written 18 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Plenty of good food in Dublin, this one of the worst.Written 2 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - scubamexMass.441 contributionsStopped in here for lunch one day while we in Dublin. Glad we did. Good food and service. Has a stage and we would go back to see one of their shows--looked like it was good. BTW, if you are looking at the stage; look to the left of the stage and keep your eye on the portrait for a while... Definitely recommend this place.Written 27 October 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kircher C19 contributionsLOVED IT! Family of 5 with kids aged 22, 19, and 16. Went the first night in Ireland and talked about fairis and folklore the rest of our trip. Great storyteller and loved being able to grab cocktails from bar above.Written 6 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jill LPickerington, OH18 contributionsIrish Song & Stories is an event in Dublin you don’t definitely don’t want to miss. The Irish food was so amazing with several choices to choose from. Everything came to the table piping hot! Sean Coffey is, no doubt, the best performer in Dublin. The way he tells the stories of his heritage and the songs he sings had a few at my table in tears. His voice is absolutely incredible. Sharon Hussey accompanies Sean on her fiddle and they fit together perfectly. Ciara is a beautiful Irish dancer, and just adds the ultimate touch to this incredible show! I’d you’re in Dublin…don’t wait…buy your tickets! You’ll be entertained from start to finish!Written 28 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- S.S.S.1 contributionWe have a large mix of nationalities in our company and wanted to organise something unique for the first sports and social event of the year. The team at Parnell Heritage we incredibly helpful with organising food and drink options while Candlelit Tales were completely enthralling.
The stories were easy to follow for all in attendance and really gave a magical insight into Irish culture and the characters of Irish Myth that shaped a nation.
Everyone that went spoke highly of the event and I look forward to losing myself in future Candlelit Tales events.Written 9 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
