What travellers are saying
- Rob CNew York City, NY682 contributionsBeautiful bike ride from Newport to Achill Island, well maintained, well marked bike path. Mostly level ride with few ups band downs. The countryside was spectacularly beautiful, with views onto fields and sheep farms, ancient ruins, and Clew Bay and its many islandsWritten 7 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- firstmnSan Jose, CA21 contributionsThe Westport House tour was great and the grounds are amazing! So much history and interesting insights into life in Ireland during George IV's reign. There was information regarding slavery in Ireland and the end of slavery in Ireland as well.
The pirate playground was not operating when we visited, but the cheesy swan boats were there to see.Written 4 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Shivor7Dublin, Ireland68 contributionsWhat a wonderful experience! Myself and my partner have zero experience riding horses and first time in Westport. Kitty was great at communicating via email to organise time and date for our horse ride. She kitted us out with helmets and riding boots when we arrived. Julia brought us on our riding trail and it was wonderful. Beautiful horses and Julia was an especially great instructor. We had a brilliant time and enjoyed the views and learning a bit more about horses. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in Westport and super cost effective compared to prices in Wicklow/Dublin area.Written 26 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Julie FGlasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom57 contributionsLovely day at Westport house over the bank holiday weekend.
Slightly overpriced - for a family of 3 - we were €70 this included the House tour.
Grounds are beautiful but the adventure area is small and has 4 rides included.Written 4 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - niall kMurrisk, Ireland50 contributionsLovely modern 200 seater theatre so can handle big plays and gigs with an intimate feel. - TWRyan.County Wicklow, Ireland223 contributionsA lovely piece of street art almost directly opposite the start of the Crough Patrick climb. Well worth the few minutes to look and let your mind wander to the conditions early emigrants had to endure..Written 30 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- PuraVidaTicosNashville, TN5 contributionsWe went with our kids to Wild West to play several times during our stay in Westport. The place is spotlessly clean and the service is top notch. Our children also loved the chicken fingers. They said they were the best in Ireland! There is something for everyone at this location. They even have a sensory room!Written 29 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- PKChuckey, TN2 contributionsPadraic Foy is the owner of the stables. He is a renown trainer and horseman in Ireland. He is schooled in the Monte Roberts Method of Horsemanship. His horses are excellent examples of the horses of Ireland and he ensures each guest has a horse that meets their individual riding experience. The 5 day riding experience is a once in a lifetime event. Padraic leads each of the daily rides and includes points of interest along the way. Riders with an intermediate skill level will thoroughly enjoy the experience.Written 10 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- John SDublin, Ireland225 contributionsBeautiful unspoilt beach with plenty of adjacent parking. Great for a long walk or a paddle (bear in mind that this was September!).
