This is a lovely place I love John rylands it’s very good things including the books, the books are very thick and tall normally in these days books will be short but that one is very tall but very good I love history, best historic place I have been to 😁

Didn’t really know what to expect as there are quite a few poor reviews on here because of the refurbishment happening at the moment. Visited with three children (9, 9, 2). There was plenty to capture the older children’s interest and lots of space for the little one to run around. There were several small activities happening in each of the museum spaces which were popular.
We visited the Operation Ouch exhibition which is around £10pp. We all thought this was fun with plenty of interactive activities.

Great walk through history of the last 200 years of football, things to see with a few interactive things for kids to do as well. A decent few photo opportunities

I went here with two friends and we all loved it. The museum covers many different areas of the world - including an Egyptian, Indian and Chinese exhibition. Moreover, it offers a good collection of fossils and has a great gift shop. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The People’s History Museum is situated on the banks of the River Irwell and is a short walk away from Salford Central station.

There is a wide range of exhibits covering numerous protests, industrial disputes and upheavals in society.

From the Peterloo Massacre in 1819, the Cato Street Conspiracy in 1820 and the Bryant and May ‘matchgirls’ dispute in 1888 up to the Grunwick strike in 1976 and the Miners’ strike in 1983/84.

There were also many fascinating banners and posters from various organisations mostly Trade Unions and political groups.

I spent a most enjoyable couple of hours here. It is well worth visiting.

Admission is free and it is closed on Tuesdays.

I transportive experience for children and parents alike. The curations, staff, facilities and atmosphere made for a lovely afternoon and a welcome respite from the drizzle!

This place needs hand rails, the seats are so uncomfortable and you feel like tilted forward... If you have anxiety this isn't the place for you. The arena cross was excellent as always.

Loved this place. You can walk pretty much everywhere, use everything...sit and relax and even read a newspaper or charge your phone. The reading room is amazing and the silence is mesmerizing :)

Wonderful theatre that I’ve been visiting since it opened in 1976. This visit to see Brief Encounter was great - superb production. Long may they continue to bring new plays along with reimagined classics.
