What travellers are saying
- Nina M1 contributionWent on the stadium tour today and what can I say what a fabulous experience, we enjoyed every minute. Tour guides Martin and Steven were amazing, funny, engaging and just great made the tour for us. The girls were made up to see grealish’ locker and shirt (big fans) as Martin called my daughter mrs grealish. Thank you so much for making the tour fabulous for usWritten 26 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CosmoManchester, UK16 contributionsOne of the most ornate building in existence! Certainly the best in Manchester. Great exhibitions, lovely afternoon tea, real culture!Written 26 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

Great exhibits especially the interactive ones for the children. Very educational. Lovely and clean, nice reasonably priced cafe.Written 21 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Julie PAberdeen, UK116 contributionsThoughouly enjoyed out time at the Museum today, really informative and we'll set out and easy to get around.Staff very friendly too!!Written 7 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ginger_RachelBurnley, UK164 contributionsWe visited recently as a family - 1 football mad 10 year old, one not-so-fussed 7 year old. Booked online no problem and found a fantastically cheap car park across from the Arena - only £2.50 for the day and a 5-10 min walk to the museum. We spent about 3.5-4 hours there altogether.
There is no shortage of activities, interactive exhibitions and information. I’d say there is a good balance for young and older football fans. Although our youngest isn’t awfully bothered with football he still enjoyed the visit, watching the videos and taking part in activities. He was fascinated by the lift which is pretty impressive! If anything there is too much information to take in for one visit - however given the tickets are valid for 12 months and the fact we live within 45 mins drive, we’ll definitely bring our older son back.
The cafe is closed at the moment (not sure if there are plans to reopen?) but we took a packed lunch and ate it in the cafe space.Written 10 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - stewart2 contributionscame to Manchester for a day out went to the art gallery a most enjoyable few hours we had just missed one of the Derrick Jarmon exhibition which had finished a couple of day before but it was still enjoyable looking at the other exhibits on showWritten 14 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Steit SlingsCologne, Germany253 contributionsMajestic building with an amazing collection of books. The reading room, or rather reading dome, is an experience in it self. Do keep silent as it is very well used.
A special note to the hostess at the entrance who told us many stories about the library and it's surroundings.Written 23 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Julia SGrimsby, UK8 contributionsGreat museum so much to see will need another visit all the staff were helpful and the cafe was lovely 😊Written 23 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- gigi1322017London, UK63 contributionsBeautiful cathedral inside and out. Nice for a walk around. Could have been more written information inside.Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Mark K4 contributionsStopped here for an hour on our way from Manchester to Liverpool as part of a few days away, and hour to 90 minutes is perfect for the size of the museum and you’ll get to read, learn and explore all key elements. The cell block and police station with lots of historical and modern exhibits are well presented and interesting.
The staff/volunteers were fantastic. We dropped in without a booking and had to wait just 5 minutes to be allowed in and were welcomed indoors to wait in the dry on a wet Manchester Tuesday … please note it is only open Tuesdays for drop ins.
Our boys (9 & 15) enjoyed it and so did we. Highly recommended and thanks to everyone who made it interesting and a great way to spend an hour or so.
Do not think you would need more than 90 minutes to see all that is has to offer. A perfect filler for the limited time we had before needing to be on our way.
Thank you to everyone!Written 13 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - CosmoManchester, UK16 contributionsI love these gardens so much. perfect way to while away an hour or two. lovely place for a picnic or chilling out with a book. so well managed.Written 26 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Sammie-Jo69North West England, UK188 contributionsAttended a comedy show at the MEN (or AO), pretty much straight into the venu with minimal fuss and no problems from security, security checks first and then ticket checks. Inside was clean enough and the seats were comfortable and roomy. A good view of the front from our seats in block 115.
At half time, the toilet queues were sizeable but moving quickly. Bar queues moved very quickly indeed - though £7 for a pint took me by surprise!
Happy enough to go and for a decent and well-priced event, you'll have a good time but just either prepare yourself for or decide not to accept the onsite refreshment prices!Written 15 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Bernadette NOldham, UK4 contributionsHad an amazing tour of the Library today and just wanted to say thanks to the tour guide who made the experience so memorable. She was so informative and made the whole tour a delight. It was like going back in time and we were made to feel part of the place. I cannot recommend this tour enough, so if you haven’t been then put it on your list.Written 6 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- CharlotteHindley, UK5 contributionsWe watched beauty and the beast 14:30 pm show however did only start around 14:40 but not to bad considering there was lots of school kids in the theatre … brilliant actors and sounding lighting etc however seats are way to small very uncomfortable ( the grand tier ) and no leg room at allWritten 25 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
