- Pamela5 contributionsOrdered afternoon tea for two told it would take about 20 mins that's fine .It arrived with sandwiches still in the boxes ,plain scones when we ordered fruit ,1 gluten free fruit and 1 just fruit,replaced with fruit gluten free in packet and if I wanted a fruit one I'd have to wait another 20 mins for it to be baked ,I accepted the plain ine but it was hard going 😔 A dish with cream and sliced strawberries,I thought it was supposed to clotted cream 🤔 A selection of tiny cakes and macaroons and Palmira biscuits .No serviettes ,only knives for the scones ,were we supposed to put the strawberries on the scones with a knife or were they a sweet if so no spoons🤔 By the time the food came the tea was tepid .All in all disappointed not the "Luxury Afternoon Tea "that's advertised.Also the state of the place was terrible ,the number of tables surrounding ours was awful full of dirty crockery hadn't been cleaned in at least an hour .When one lady finally arrived to clean and clear the tables she said that they were very short staffed .Anybody coming in the afternoon and saw the state of the tables they would have walked out .as there were hardly any clean tables to be had.Written 29 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Firstly, massive thanks to Charlotte Tilbury whose staff on both occasions were so helpful and kind. As a more mature customer it can be quite intimidating when surrounded by beautiful young staff but she helped me to find exactly what I needed and tested it to check it was right for my skin colour.
Pity the same can’t be said for the member of staff on the Dior counter, I was subjected to a full top to top stare and was met with such distain by he/they/she that I was so uncomfortable and left shortly after. Thank goodness for the absolutely lovely guy at Dior in Manchester Airport who was so kind and helpful, the choice I had in mind turned to be completely wrong and the lipstick he chose was so much better. There is a big range of clothes available but I always find it a bit of a jumble sale as all the clothes are a mish mash with lots of different clothes mixed up together.
