Arriving at the airport, in Manchester, I was aware that there was a train station. The staff were very helpful and I soon had a ticket and I was making my way to this station. It is three stops from the airport, I left at 1345 and arrived here at 1404.
Silly me, didn’t realise there was a lift and carted my luggage up the stairs. At the other side, I was making my way down when a train driver assisted me. Initially I didn’t realise that he was a train driver until a couple of his co-workers arrived. I was very appreciative of his assistance.
The station is an old one, and it’s curiously quirky. It’s tucked away in a small area off a main street. The staff at the gates went out of their way to give me directions to where I was staying. Mind you… The best part of his role might be telling people where to go .😉
He showed me to a map on the wall, I listened to his directions, and still took a photo of the map. I have no idea what happened next, as he did tell me to turn left, and I turned right. This might of been contributed to a bit of jetlag… I should have listened to more closely to this very helpful staff member.
I really love the quirkiness of the station.
