It was interesting to learn about and taste wines and cheeses from the different regions in France. No, I don’t know what years are best, or have any real expertise, but I now know enough to at least ask pertinent questions and (hopefully) understand the answers. It wasn’t just delicious(!!) and informative, but Gerald was funny, witty and made it an experience I was sad to leave. It was great to get to find so many hidden gems in the Marais neighborhood of Paris. Lots of sweet and savory foods, including a wonderful sit down lunch. Alex picked us up right on time and we met 4 other delightful people for our trip to 2 champagne wineries. One was small and charming, the other was Nicolas Feuillatte. It was really nice to see the contrast between the two. We also stopped for a wonderful lunch and also enjoyed a stop at Hautvillers Abbey which was delightful. Before our trip back to Paris we enjoyed a blind testing at a stunning park overlooking a village with an incredible view. You have to option to get on the roof with spectacular views or inside the heated cabin, OR on the back of the boat outside. Such a great experience and a great way to see the city easily. You will have a wonderful time, eat great good, and most importantly, learn a lot about French food. Montmartre is a great area, and Chef PJ will tell you all about it!
