Fragonard had great reviews, was very affordable, and the location was great (close to Galeries Lafayette and easy public transportation). Everyone at the location was so friendly and welcoming. We had an issue with confirmation of our reservation and they went out of their way to make sure things worked out. The class itself was so good and informative. After we finished creating our own scent, we were given a very nice tour of the museum, and then a chance to test the wonderful scents in the store. I wish I had bought more because I don’t know when I will have another opportunity to go to Paris. - Nicole S1 contributionClara and her team (Juliette) were great! They took note of my style, budget, and items I was hoping to buy before the tour in order to best maximize our time. I was solo, short on time, spoke no French, and hadn’t visited Paris in 15 years. Clara helped guide me through stores in the Marais, ask staff for sizing, and gave me direction for exploring more of the Marais before heading back to my hotel. She also pointed out galleries and chocolate shops in the area of my hotel while we made our way to the Metro (which I needed confidence navigating again). Clara introduced me to french brands and maximized the short time I had for shopping on this trip. - Anna SBoston, Massachusetts6 contributionsMatt gave us the best tour of our trip (we took 3 other walking tours which were all excellent). He showed us the highlights of Le Marais, including Jewish landmarks, vibrant shopping, lovely churches, and historic buildings. His commentary was entertaining, charming and funny. He also gave us an informative and incredibly amusing 4-minute version of French history. And when asked, as an added bonus, he gave us a ton of information about the Notre Dame fire which was not really on the agenda. Afterwards he sent us an email with recommendations for food, restaurants, movies and music. It was amazing! If you have an opportunity to take a tour led by Matt, you should RUN to sign up. - Marcel W1 contributionThe ticket clearly states to arrive 10 minutes early and that NO LATE ARRIVALS WILL BE ACCEPTED. So I arrived at 09:15 for the 09:30 tour, exactly as instructed—only to be left standing outside in the freezing cold.
I thought maybe we needed to arrive early to get equipped with audio devices or receive instructions, as is the case in some other museums—but nothing like that happened. When I asked why we had to come early if we couldn’t even enter, the guard told me that the “arrive 10 minutes early” rule simply means to stand in the line outside. Ridiculous. If that’s the case, they should just say so! Completely unwelcoming and poorly managed.
And the worst part? People arrived late and were still admitted! So why impose strict rules and scare customers if they don’t even apply? She picked out several cute items for us in advance, and even had a shop that was closed open up just for us. She also helped us understand and get the VAT paperwork at each store-well worth her rate to have such a chic guide and seamless experience! Forget Gallerie Lafayette and the maddening crowds, Linda organised for us a bespoke and efficient express tour to the heart of the Marais. Emerging designers, vintage couture, VIP treatment.
