Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed in Montemartre as we did Paris centre a few years ago and wanted an alternative Paris this time.
    Montmartre delivers!
Fabulous area to wander with lovely little streets, cafes and shops as well as some great sightseeing.
Has more of a village feel but is a busy little hub of activity. Perfect for a Paris stay.

It’s very busy, even in the middle of winter. Some exteriors, such as LV, are very impressive. Not necessarily a good place to shop for the “average” person, but worth a look.

Latin Quarter amazing and close to everything, such as Notre Dame and the Louvre, great Hotel and everything within walking distance or near to the
Subway (be aware the subways are excellent but haze no escalators, only stairs.)
Would go again in a heart beat

This is one of my favourite parts of Paris. There’s a lot to see and do, but wandering out the island it’s easy to find quiet hidden spots that feel quite unlike the hustle and bustle of a major city

The urban design idea here is to build a straight line of avenues and monuments leading west away from the Louvre. So you have the Tuileries, Arc de Carousel, Champs de L'Eysses, Arc de Triomphe, and then La Defense. Very bold. Best seen from the top of the Arc de Triomphe.

I never get tired of visiting the covered passages, which were built in the early 19th Century in the middle of big blocks to develop the center of the blocks and to provide safe spaces off the dirty streets for shopping and eating. Most have been revived and are now busy. I love to admire the classic architecture. Vivienne is my favorite.

Up above there is a wonderful linear park above street level stretching to the east for many block. Down below the arches have been filled in by specialty stores and galleries. A very artistic quarter and a great re-use of old rail line.

This long street was developed centuries ago and you will find fine architecture from the 18th and 19th Centuries along it. Originally one of the streets that led from the market gardens outside of town to the city market at Les Halles, it later developed as a residential street with old apartment buildings and later still, upscale shopping. Lots of history here.

The River Seine is one of the great river's of Europe and befitting such a majestic river are the quai's dotted throughout the path of the river through the city , these offer great views of the city's amazing architecture ,walking along the likes of Quai De Montebello in the Île De La Cité complex is superb ,you can get very close to the river itself ,some of the quai's are really historic ,beautiful pieces of architecture in their own right ,it's wonderful walking around the quai's of the city and well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Paris.

I do recommend exploring this area, which has been working class, is in the midst of some change, lots of immigrants, but also some of the new gentry seaking affordable housing. On a steep hillside, so it is work to explore. Some big parks.

When I first started visiting Paris nearly 40 years ago this street and parts of this area were a bit seedy ,years have eroded the reputation this street once had and nowadays it's a cool street to walk down with great cafés,pubs, bars and restaurants and some interesting sites ,latest visit to Paris saw my twin brother Stephen and myself visiting some of the great pubs along this street such as Hall's Beer Tavern and McBrides Irish Pub ,had a great time in those pubs and in and along this street which is most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a holiday to Paris.

It's a very long boulevard from the era of the guy for whom it is named. You will find a statue of the guy along it, as well as the major department stores. Lots of bank buildings and apartment buildings that have been converted to offices.
