Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were disappointed in the gardens as half of them were dug up and being prepared for the Olympics. Inside the palace was very beautiful and very crowded. Even though we had timed tickets we had to wait in the sun for 30minutes past our scheduled time.

Not all of the Palace of Versailles is spectacular, but this iconic room is a wonder to behold. It is not to be missed and must be experienced to be understood.

This was an expected delight. Marie Antoinette’s fake Norman Village is fascinating. It is so over-the-top quaint because it is fake. It is like a Disneyland Norman village and that’s what makes it so strangely compelling.

Min building first floor - not to be missed - make sure you have an audio guide. Beautiful paintings and a great history of French militarism - or at least the battles that they won

Such a beautiful palace with lots to see. We opted for a guided tour, which gave us information we likely wouldn't have had

Spent approximately 30 mins here and that was enough time to take in the detail of the carriages, sleds, etc. I'm glad we didn't actually miss seeing this.

Stopped here on the way back from visiting the Chateau, grand building with a good information sign, we didn't try to enter. There is also a war memorial and a floral clock on the way back to the station.

Such a cute little spot to take a walk and have a picnic! We arranged a picnic at Piece d'Eau and it was delightful and relaxing. The view of the lake is great and there was only a few people at the lake/grounds which made it nice. So relaxing and so fun to walk around! Only a few minutes from the Chateau Versailles! We really enjoyed it!

Stoked to see gilded figures and a beautiful vista not far from the Palace. It's hard not to miss as it stands out even on a dreary day.

I discovered Quartier Saint-Louis neighbourhood by accident whilst strolling along the streets of Versailles. The cathedral of Saint Louis is the main attraction however there are some lovely rocaille & neoclassical facades scattered around the market square & cathedral. Well worth the effort to find.

There is an unusual and upscale souvenir boutique worth going to as well as a famous restaurant across the boutique. Don't miss the little garden with many blooming flowers, this is a very peaceful place.

Popped in here after some shopping therapy. Didn't know what to expect so was pleasantly surprised with the colours that beamed in through the stained glass windows. Just beautiful.

Aside from these, many chapels have undergone restoration and the painted stone columns are how all churches used to be.

Visited during our trip to versailles, Not far from the palace vicinity. The french style architecture was great. Did not have much time to spend around , but would definitely try to do that during next visit.

La vallée de Bievre is a heritage site with trails valued by nature lovers, bike riders, and hikers, but it also lovely just to to drive through. The river Bievre flows through the valley and 15 towns, woods fields , ponds and irrigates the Versailles castle. Besides Versailles, there are picturesque towns in the area with interesting historical sites. Jouy en Josas and neighboring Les Loges en Josas are worth a visit . In the elevated part of the town we can visit the house of Leon Blum’ ( ( 1872-1950) a French statesman who became involved in politics during the Dreyfus affaire.Blum was arrested during WII by the Vichy government , delivered to the Nazis and deported to Buchenwald. After the war became a leader of the SFIO party was the 1st French socialist and jewish Premier.
A block away is the house the French poet poet, novelist, playwriter Victor Hugo(1802-1885) rented for his mistress Juliette Drouet.
Toile de Jouy Museum , which exhibits the famous indian cotton toile de Jouy material printed with red and green scenes which for centuries has been used to cover furniture , lampshades , as curtains, aprons and cushion covers ,lampshades etc
Check the visiting hours. The Museum Toile de Jouy is closed from August 1st-August 14 ?
