What travellers are saying
- WherezthisguyRouen, France4 contributionsBeautiful piece of architecture with shopping shops around. I like to hang out in this area. A must visit destination.Written 3 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Bea TWellington, New Zealand286 contributionsThis wooden structure is unbelievable. What a charming church. I loved the wooden roof beams. It is not a huge church, but I have never seen anything like this before.Written 7 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- paolovbossiThe Hague, The Netherlands706 contributionsJust fantastic. One of the most beautiful cliffs in the world. It’s my fourth time in Etretat but still surprised by the beauty of the placeWritten 9 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Wandering boomLouisiana1,060 contributionsFantastic museum in Caen that not only covers the D-Day invasion and WW2, but also WW1 and the Cold War. Great gift shop and restaurant. RAF Hawker Typhoon replica in the entrance way is worth the visit alone. Cold War exhibits feature s Soviet Mig-21R reconnaissance jet and fragments of a Lockheed U-2 shot down over Cuba. Alsk a great spy exhibit and part of the Berlin wall. Well done displays and a must visit museum if you're in CaenWritten 8 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- JoelLadoBrussels, Belgium177 contributionsVery different church, the modern architecture looks very interesting. from the inside it is much more beautiful, so definitely go in.Written 2 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Kenneth PagesTampa, FL994 contributionsYou have to hand it to Instagram. This place is so photogenic that one shouldn’t be surprised that it is so frequently posted. We had a driver from Paris and a tour guide. It is a long drive - about 4 hours but the small towns and countryside are pretty especially the fields of yellow flowers. It is over a thousand years old so keep this in mind in terms of your attire. Prepare for the potential of light rain, cool weather and shoes that will stand up to all the concrete and stairs and moisture. It’s a great representation of Middle Ages and gothic architecture. While I enjoyed our tour guide I would suggest one might be able to use the audio guide they provide (though I did not personally listen I imagine it is similar to other museum type audio guides). Below the monastery itself is a small “village” and you can get souvenirs and have lunch there. There is not a lot in the town on the mainland so it is probably your best bet. One could also rent a car and drive themselves - it is not a difficult drive. There are small inns if staying overnight is a more attractive idea.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Deborah GBoquete, Panama27 contributionsAmazing feat of storytelling in woven form. We found it most interesting and such a work of woven art.Written 10 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DavidG897London, UK2,731 contributionsIt was cold and blowfly but not raining as we strolled along the slightly springy wooden promenade beside the wide expanse of beach. Bracing but pleasant past the beach “huts” named after stars of Hollywood.Written 22 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- TheCount69Rochdale, UK802 contributionsBeautiful harbour in Honfleur, there are restaurants all along it vying for business, great to sit out and have a drink or food, even though it was beginning of March it was still very crowded. It is a great photo opportunity and very picturesqueWritten 12 March 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- DiggoryLondonLondon304 contributionsThis was the fist of the five D Day beaches that we visited over two days.
There is hardly anything at this location that alludes to the momentous events that occurred here.
The other four landing sites provide great tributes to the sacrifices made.
Local signage will outline scences of the landing with indicators towards local landmarks that still can be seen today. The road leading off the beach that was heavily fortified can still be walked.
However, l am still glad that l made the journey to this location in recognotion to all those who landed, died and fought here.Written 27 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Jose CLe Havre, France26 contributionsA little expensive and small for the money, but the garden is really beautiful and I will recommend a visit.Written 12 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Jeremy JAbergavenny, UK419 contributionsWell worth the climb up to the castle, the museum contains an excellent collection of historic artefacts, works of art, period furniture and cartography.Written 13 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ML_Travels140London, UK113 contributionsBusy local market, a must see in Dieppe to feel the local vibe and find quality products and specialties. It actually has been awarded the prize of 2nd most beautiful market in France by one major TV channel in France.Written 13 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Trevor1 contributionGreat visit, the submarine Redoutable is very interesting, the Titanic exhibition gives a fairly detailed and well presented view on what occurred and the aquarium is colourful and provides plenty of detail for those who are interested.
We were a group of 6, from 9 to 73 years old and everyone enjoyed the visit, just DO NOT go to the sandwich bar afterwards, poor quality and downright rude staff.Written 26 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - SeasondtravellerParis4,327 contributionsWe were a bit surprised to find out that the collections were so limited, with one or a few pieces by artist for most of them. While there were quite a few Eugène Boudin, they are not the most famous ones.Written 27 January 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
