Great, family museum.
And it's true--it doesn't cater to the kind of tourist who wants a Top Ten list of must-see sights or those with kids.

Cours Mirabeau is the beating heart of Aix-en-Provence, filled with cafés, a wide variety of shops and restaurants, and quite a few monuments, meaning that the whole family can find something to see/do in a relati...
There were people blowing huge bubbles for the children and a clown blowing balloon animals, a carousel, a huge band playing upbeat music, and a lot of gorgeous fountains and statues.

Can be very interesting for kids as well.

Versatile, with both shady areas and open spaces, a stream cooling off the area during the summer, an outdoor gym free to use, a petanque area as well as a play ground for kids.
Plenty of space to jog or let the kids play.

Beautiful fountain in the middle of Cours Mirabeau amongst all of the cafes and shops!! Beautiful spot for a picture with friends or family.
This fountain is right outside our apartment and we have witnessed it being used for pigeons to drink from, kids to play in, and people to fill their drink bottles from.

We would often go there to sit and watch the French school children eating their lunches--all of.

Unfortunately three of the seven exhibit rooms were being renovated and so we could not see the works inside, but we happened to be visiting on a special kids day, so the admission fee was decreased.
Chateau La Coste en Provence Le Puy-Sainte-Reparade

Great with kids (ours are 8 and 3 and loved the art and adventure tour) Recommend lunch at La Terrasse, chilled out, great shaded location, simple but great food.
Culture + scenery + kids friendly (and you can borrow out'n'about buggies!)+ shaded parking + GREAT yummy Terrace cafe.

An excellent place for children to burn off some energy on a rainy day.
