He’s like out very own 007 of Courcheval.Written 15 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Paul1178Edinburgh, UK46 contributionsWe went there for 2 half days, did a few walks and the tree trekking, the staff doing the tree trekking were fantastic and the kids loved it. We ate lunch at the little café, the food was good and reasonably priced and they had draft beer which was a bonus after a walk in 30 degree weather. Definitely a place to visit if you are in Courchevel in the summer.Written 25 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joseph W3 contributionsExcellent ski lessons for two teenagers. Improved their skiing technique and enhanced their local knowledge of the slopes and the changeable conditions. Good communication and flexibilty with the lesson times. Relaxed coaching by Jason made this an enjoyable experience. - pzh1955St. Albans, UK55 contributionsThis year was my 6th trip to Meribel and each time I have taken my own ice skates to be able to skate on this lovely rink. As someone who normally skates regularly on a very small rink it is such a treat to be able to skate on this Olympic size rink. I did have some criticism about this year's visit though. They now open at 4pm instead of 3pm which is not very convenient when you're staying in a chalet that serves tea and cake at 4.30. I can't ski all day and used to spend 1.5 hours on the ice most days but this year I had to reduce that to 30 - 40 minutes or miss tea which was a nuisance. Normally the ice is very well maintained so it was disappointing to go one afternoon to find that the ice was very cut up after being used for hockey training I think. They didn't bother to re-do the ice before the public session started.
On the whole though this is a fab rink with good quality ice and it's not too expensive.Written 2 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My youngest son (7 years old) had a 3 hour private lesson with instructor Pierre for 1 day while I spent 2 days private SKI lesson with Cyril. Alex surely had a great time with Pierre. And for me, I definitely benefit a lot from my tuition with Cyril - he gave me useful tips and feedback to help me conquer my fear of steep blue runs, red runs and icy runs. He is not the type of instructor keep giving u feedback every 10 mins. But he pushes me a little to let me have advancement in my skills but also having fun at the same time. At the end of the 2nd day of lesson, I was confident enough to conquer all types of blue runs and most red runs.
As for the company, I need to say a big THANK YOU to Charles their director. In fact, we arrived in Les Menuires 1 day late because our flight from Hong Kong to Paris was cancelled due to technical problems. But after emailing Charles informing about our unfortunate situation, he helped me to sort out how the lesson s could be rearranged so as to fit my other plans in the resort. Thank you so much BLACK SKI ESA - you have made our holiday such an amazing one. Surely will get someone lesson from you when we visit Les Menuires or 3 Vallees next time.Written 3 February 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our family spent our February break skiing with Ashely. As it was our first time to Courchevel, having his help to guide us was essential. Before our arrival, Ashley took the time learn about us as a family so he could structure our time with him thoughtfully. Additionally, he was also very patient pre arrival answering all of my logistical questions (ie. where to rent equipment, lunch suggestions, etc). And once there, having him meet us at the hotel in the morning and guide us to the most incredible spots in The Three Valleys took all the frustration out of experience and allowed our family to enjoy the experience. He was also very attentive to what our family needs were -- i.e. stop for a hot chocolate break, incorportat things to keep our kids having fun, and all the while taught us so much about the area, and gave helpful tips on how to improve our skiing! It was such a special unforgettable experience for our family thanks to Ashley and the First Tracks team!!!!Written 1 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Brian CGlasgow, UK5 contributionsMarie - aka Marie Mars Bar has very successfully taught all 3 of my children to both ski very well and also as importantly really enjoy the mountains. I have no hesitation in whole heartedly recommending her for children or adults. She has a great ability to make learning fun for both the young and the not so young. Her enthusiasm is genuine and she has a great gift of getting her clients to enjoy the skiing to the max - whatever the level.Written 22 December 2014This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - yumchaHong Kong5 contributionsMy husband and I spent a week with Kevin on the slope. We originally booked only 2 days but we found the class so useful that we kept taking more hours. We went from barely able to make the turns to comfortably making the blue slopes.
Kevin was experienced, patience and professional. He adjusted the classes based on our abilities and how we felt mentally and physically each day. He took videos for us and discuss about our postures to help us improve. He was always punctual and never finished the class early.
Kevin was so friendly and humorous that made him such a fantastic coach to train with. We felt sad as we bid farewell to him at the end of our last day.
We highly recommend him without any hesitation.Written 13 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The kids had a wonderful time splashing around and trying the slides. There is not all that much to do but for the location, this is pretty special. There is also an outdoor games area but the temperature was just too cold!Written 1 August 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
