Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Amazing trip! great itinerary. It’s a trip to see all the tour guides get out of the buses and race to the ticket counter to secure their group’s place in line for visiting time.

A few pro tips about this tour - be ready to do some physical activity! This is NOT a tour for someone who has mobility issues!!! Our guide, Lina, was fantastic but she didn’t lie when she called it the diet tour! We climbed up to the red suspension bridge and thought that was hard - but then when we got to the DMZ tunnel - insane!!!! The climb down is so steep and the climb back is brutal! Everyone was huffing and puffing and sweaty coming back!

Pack snacks and water too - the schedule is dictated by the ticket time availability etc.

Lina was a great guide. Informative, shared her personal family stories about her grandmother, and was great at rallying everyone to the bus to stay on time.

Charles Park was a wonderful guide, highly informative and a lovely chap. The tour included the Observatory (DMZ / North Korea view), Tunnel 3 and the unification village.. all in all a great day out!

Julie was such an amazing tour guide. She learned everyone’s names on the bus and really connected with everyone which I’ve never had a tour guide do. She was so full of energy and engaging, allowing me to learn so much about Korean history and culture. The tour was great and we were able to have lots of time at each stop.

I recently did this tour with Vince and have to say that it was worth every penny! Vince was so informative + the hotel pick up and drop offs at peak tourist locations made the whole thing super convenient. Must book if you want to experience the true beauty of the korean peninsula

Our guide was named Won, and he made the experience absolutely perfect. Won took us to each site and even got us monorail tickets down 15 stories into the tunnel and back out. We were the first tour group to go down. We made up so much time that the tour finished quickly and we beat the crowds abs hot afternoon sun. Won also drove us to the red suspension bridge and then back to our hotel safely. All around perfect tour.

I wasn't sure whether to do this private tour or some of the larger bus group tours from Seoul. I now know the private tour was well worth it. Went at our own pace and got ahead of large groups.

One thing to note is that after getting tickets, everyone must board a group shuttle bus controlled by the DMZ operators (not tour companies). I found this point confusing but it made more sense to me after this tour. One does not simply walk into the DMZ with a private tour or car. Everyone both going into the DMZ must take a separate and specially designated bus, and that is "hop on and hop off" style with strict time limits at each shuttle stop. There is no wandering at your own pace endlessly. The tunnel monorail riders are on one special bus separate from tunnel walkers.

Thanks again to Won and PLK Tours.

The K group tour was great and our host was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the stops. The bus is comfortable and they let me store my luggage underneath which was very convenient.

I’m a solo traveler and I felt very included, even made a couple friends within the group.

The tour itself was a lot of fun - the gondola part was a fun quick excursion (but it is not over the border just fyi). The highlight for me was the cave and the observatory (even though it was a hazy day, we could still see a decent panorama).

    Overall, well worth the money!

Jun provided a really fascinating and unique tour; giving us insights into the Nth Korean culture.
He was very open about the differences between Nth and South.
The car was very comfortable. He was punctual and polite.
We enjoyed a delicious traditional meal prepared by a beautiful woman who is also Nth Korean.
    Highly recommend this tour

Shane was our tour guide and he was absolutely amazing, very informative and made the tour special, stopping to take photos and took us to one of the best food spots I have ever eaten at! If you are going to Seoul this is an absolute must! I would also definitely recommend the private tour versus a tour group as the tour groups had to many people to properly enjoy the sites.

This was originally planned as a side trip while on a few week stay in the region, but turned out to be the most memorable guided tour I've ever taken. I met my tour guide Lizzy at a local station in Seoul, we were both quickly picked up by a driver after meeting and taken to the DMZ area. She was extremely knowledgeable and well spoken about the current and past events involving the DMZ, and answered all my many questions I had while on the way to the DMZ. From Imjingak, Dora, the tunnel, and the Unification Village it is a very unique place, and in great detail Lizzy explained them all. She also is a great binoculars operator and will help you look north and see things you probably would not find on your own. For what I wanted out of a private tour it exceed all my expectations.

I was expecting more drama more wires high and electrical. But I saw a quite beautiful place along the border. Comparing I've seen similar situations in very bad conditions but here greenery, working fields, very clean with parks.

Loved Sunny so much! She told us so much history and was so helpful with everything. Had a great day! It was really foggy when we first got here and she know how to change the schedule so that we had the best view on the observation deck! Thank you Sunny!
