Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Marta was very inviting with a lot of pride and knowledge. The winery was also carrying great history, charm, and uniqueness. Definitely I recommend the place!

It was a lovely experience, we had the chance to visit the vineyards of the family, prune the vines, visit the cellars and taste their delicious wines. This family business is run by people who love their history and their products, which made it even more memorable. 5 star visit!

Wonderful experience on the making of wine all the way from the old to the new ways. Our guide was very informative, we have visisted many bodegas around the world, and we still were able to learn a thing or two, as for the wine a very enjoyable wine for the budget conscious.

This winery is a gem, and we had an amazing visit, a private tour since we were just the two of us (me and my husband) with Ms Ruiz de Copegui, our wonderful, knowlegdeable guide.

We found the surroundings truly beautiful, and appreciated the spaces designed and restored with piety - not forgetting the wines!

Maybe most impressive of all was the peacful atmosphere all over… we truly enjoyed this visit!

Wonderful small winery. The tour is done by the owner who is passionate and knowledgeable. The wines tasted are wonderful (bring some extra cash as you will want to buy some bottles). The tapas is delicious and wonderfully paired. Cash is preferred as internet is unpredictable

this winery and its culinary products are truly first class - and worth wile visiting - in addition we had a fantastic view to Penafiel. The way to produce from the vineyards to the glass in sustainable way is amazing. Worthwile visiting.

We had a fantastic morning wine tour and tasting with Raquel. I'd been looking forward to this tour for quite some time and it did not disappoint. The winery itself is beautiful and the history of the family, the vineyard, the region, etc. were all top notch. And of course, the wine! We went with the Malleolus tasting and it was phenomenal. If you get the chance to eat lunch in the upstairs restaurant before or after your tour, do it! The food was some of the best we had on our vacation and of course you can pair if with healthy pours of all of the wines. Thanks Raquel!

It was a comprehensive tour of the museum and winery tour
You have to allot a minimum of 5hrs to do the self guided 6 floor wine museum (3hrs), 1 hr pre booked winery tour and cap it off w wine tasting for the wines you would like to bring back home
Come early though - they have shorter hours on weekends

This is a copy of an email I sent the Muga Family. We would highly recommend the Bodegas Muga.
    Dear Muga Family
We have just spent a wonderful lunch time tasting wines and eating food at your courtyard restaurant.
We even met one of the Muga family. See attached photos.
She was most welcoming and although we couldn’t speak Spanish we very much enjoyed meeting her. Please pass on our thanks and gratitude to her for her hospitality.
Thank you once again for the experience of good wine, fine food and wonderful hospitality.
    Best Wishes

Decent wine tour - educational but nothing particularly special. Although staff were lovely and accommodated us even though we were 10 mins late. However the grounds were amazing and I would definitely recommend going for a drink at the hotel. Hotel is very uniquely designed and it was lovely having a glass of wine in the sun, surrounded by vineyards.

A good tour with enjoyable tasting at the end. Lots of the area was covered and the guide had a great deal to tell us. The video walls at the end were impresssive, as were the huge cathedrals of barrels. The little train was a bit of a squash and our guide, although informative and interesting, had rather a harrying tone and treated us rather like school children. Not much humour and certainly not amenable to taking any questions. If you dared to interrupt there was a lecture and so we all went through the experience rather like polite and silent sheep really. One got the impression that she really didn’t enjoy looking after us! The nicest part of the tour was the full tasting, and we had pre ordered the five types of Sherry and tapas. It was excellent .

We visited and had an English tour from the owner's daughter. She was a very informative guide and the wine cave was lovely. We tasted several wines with her which was really enjoyable. A good variety of wines were available to buy as well as olive oil and jam.

Lovely tour with Sylvia, she was very informative and the wines were great. So nice to hear about the history of the bodega and the setting was beautiful. Perfect end to a trip to Haro, thank you!

Very nice tour through the vineyard and the production facility. Even though we just dropped in and were the only non-Spanish speaking people we still got the tour in English. Our guide, Paula, was very nice and provided a very clear explanation.
