After seeing hundreds of over the top churches around the world, this lovely basilica redefines over the top to a new level. I suggest you just take a minute to scroll through the first 50 or so of pictures left by prior reviewers and you will get the idea! Not to be missed! Aside from the overwhelming amount of gilt , not to mention the over abundance of detail and different distinct art crammed into this basilica, there are some very unique pieces. I gave names to my favorite two: "The Zombie Head of John the Baptist", which is self descriptive, and "St. Joan of the Arctic" which isn't. This is a statue of St. Joan holding a sword with her foot holding down a sea demon to be killed. But the sea demon looks very much like a baby seal, except for it's face of course. It may be a small church, but it is a vast holding of religious symbols with unique presentations. It is a lot of fun!
