Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This museum was not on our list of places to go and we stumbled across it. It ended up being our favorite place we visited in a week spent in Barcelona. The exhibits were fascinating and the Roman ruins were incredible. I beyond recommend you spend a few hours here.

Staff really friendly and helpful. €6 to get in. Bargain.
    Nice and warm.
Two levels when we visited. From prehistoric artefacts through eventually to modern times. Covered the history of the Catalan region as you'd expect but like some others who commented, did feel the effects of the brutal civil war were a little played down.
Finished by having a drink in the rooftop restaurant. Again, the staff were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. Drinks overlooking the yachts in the harbour. Delightful.
Displays had English explanations but the individual displays did not. Easy enough to follow what it was all about though.
Great staff. Lovely building. Well planned display. Great bar up top.

Very nice view. Went by accident, planned to see Parc Guell and this was a close bus stop. Very difficult to find anything without mobile internet:). In the end found Parc Guell. Come early because police won't let people to stay later

A nice but small museum. For 12 euro its about what you'd expect to pay, but in truth you'll only need an hour in here. The king tut exhibit has no English translations. I didn't see any toilets.

Avant-garde comics by young women was one of the temporary exhibitions underway. Nine authors feature, including Roberta Vázquez, Bàrbara Alca and Nadia Hafid.

They deal through the medium of comics with subjects and themes particularly affecting young people such as economic uncertainty and their relationship with technology.

All in an impressive building, part of which constitutes a mighty former alms house.

The "Museu d'Arqueologia de Catalunya", MAC is an archaeological museum that exposes the most important archaeological collection of Catalonia, focusing on prehistoric times and ancient history. It has five branches, in different places, and the one in Barcelona, MAC Barcelona, covers an area of 4,000 square meters and it is structured into five chronological spaces: prehistory, protohistory, the Greek and Phoenician colonisations, the Roman Empire. and the Visigoths, marking the start of the medieval period.
There are no exceptional archaeological finds, but hose present are very well valorized.
Fixed explanations mainly in Catalan, a few in Spanish and English.
There are also several interesting multimedia and virtual reality points.

This was located very close to our hotel, so we stopped in to check it out. Although there is certainly an impressive array of perfumes and cosmetics inside, they are all things that are for sale...more like a store than a museum.

When passing were delighted to see there was a free concert at 6pm. Returned for it, in a fabulous Gothic building.

It was constructed in the 16th century by Bartomeu Roig for the Tertiary Sisters of the Dominicans and is a fabulous legacy to be still extant, and in use.

A string quartet performed a number of compositions, modern and atonal in form. While by no means a favourite music, it was atmospheric in the grand vaulted space.
